World leaders are absolutely furious at Donald Trump and his despicable regime. Frankly, world leaders are saying they are absolutely disgusted at Donald Trump and his regime and how their border patrol and ICE Gestapo are killing Americans and others living in the country in cold blood and then defaming the individuals who are murdered. World leaders are saying, We will join forces with each other and strike back against Trump and his despicable regime if they dare threaten the sovereignty of other countries again as other countries forge alliances to checkmate the United States, forging broader trade alliances, military alliances that are leaving Donald Trump and his regime. And sadly, the United States isolated, generationally weaker, as Justin Wolfers, economist from the University of Michigan, explains. Let me show you what went down over the past 48 hours. As Donald Trump huffs and puffs and says, Yet again, he's going to blow the house down of Canada and impose 100% tariffs on Canada. If it goes forward with a $1 trillion trade pack with China, which was entered two weeks ago when Prime Minister Carny visited Beijing and met with Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Carny responds, We are going forward with the Trade Pact with China.

00:01:49

It's specifically because of threats like this by Donald Trump that we need to find new trading partners. I'll show you that in a moment. You have the President of Spain giving a powerful speech rebuking Donald Trump's Board of Peace and saying, Why would we join any organization that has to deal with Palestine where Palestinians are not invited to join? Why would we join a Board of Peace when Donald Trump is forging alliances with an access of evil that threatens the world order? No way we are not joining it. You have President Zelenskyy of Ukraine giving a powerful speech side by side with Poland, saying that all of these nations stand with Ukraine, but notably absent from the list is the United States. You have Prime Minister Metta Fredrickson of Denmark standing up strongly and saying, Don't you dare cross the bright red lines that we have set when it comes to the sovereignty of Denmark and Greenland. That will not even be a topic of discussion. Meanwhile, Metta Fredrickson's party is now surging in the polls in Denmark after they were trailing before Donald Trump engaged in this escalation of the threats. The same thing we saw, what happened in Canada when Donald Trump threatened Canada and Australia, where you had Prime Minister Carny, and when you had Australia's Labor Party surge ahead, we're seeing the same thing in Denmark right now.

00:03:16

Let's just go through all this and break it all down. Donald Trump has continued to attack Canada over the weekend while also defaming the individual who was murdered by his ICE Gestapo, Alex Jeffrey Pretty, and the same way they defamed Renee Nicole Good. This Trump regime is despicable in every sense of the word. While they were defaming them, this is what Trump was also posting about Canada. The last thing the world needs is to have China take over Canada. It's not going to happen or even come close to happening. Thank you for your attention to this matter, Donald J. Trump. Then, of course, he posted two days ago, If Governor Carnegie thinks he's going to make Canada a drop-off port for China to send goods and products into the United States, he is sorely mistaken. China will eat Canada alive, completely devour it, including the discussion of their business, social fabric, and general way of life. Just pause there. I think Donald Trump is describing the United States right now as China has completely outmaneuvered Donald Trump in every single way, whether it was withholding soybean purchases, withholding rare earth mineral exports. China has completely outmaneuvered Donald Trump.

00:04:35

Donald Trump then goes on to say, If Canada makes a deal with China, it will immediately be hit with a 100% tariff against all Canadian goods and products coming into the USA. Thank you for your attention to this matter. He then posted again this weekend, China is successfully and completely taking over the once great country of Canada. So sad to see it happen. I only hope they They leave ice hockey alone. Djt. And then Donald Trump says, A must watch. Canada is systematically destroying itself. The China deal is a disaster for them. We'll go down as one of the worst deals of any kind in history. All their businesses are moving to the USA. I want to see Canada survive and thrive. President DJT, and everybody in Canada knows how laughable it is to say all of the businesses in Canada are moving to the USA. Canada has led one of the most successful boycott, if not the most successful boycott in the history of the world against the United States, crashing US tourism, destroying US industries like the bourbon, like bourbon industry and other whiskey and other alcoholic industries. So no, Donald, they're not moving their businesses here.

00:05:50

The Buy Canada movement is thriving more than ever, and they have inspired a boycott USA movement in Europe, in Australia, in Central America, South America, and Africa, and the rest of the world. Now, do you think Prime Minister Carny was afraid of Donald Trump's threats of 100% tariffs? Absolutely not. Yesterday, Prime Minister Carny, in speaking with the reporters as the new legislative session begins, says, We're not afraid. We're going forward with that deal. The deal with China doesn't violate any trade agreements with the United States that the US violates all the time anyway. We're not scared of you, Donald. Watch Prime Minister Carny here play this clip.

00:06:33

How are you responding to Trump's threats of 100% terrorists?

00:06:36

Well, the first thing is that Canada respects our engagements, our commitments. We have commitments under Kuzma that not to pursue free trade agreements with non-market economies without prior notification. We have no intention of doing that with China or any other non-market economy. What we've done with China is to rectify some issues that developed in the last couple of years. In many respects, we're going to use the expression back to the future with respect to EVs, with respect to agriculture, with respect to fish products and other food products, but with additional protections. For example, back in 2023, we didn't have a cap on the number of EVs. We didn't have a requirement for a large proportion of those EVs to be affordable, highly affordable EVs for a Canadian. It's entirely consistent with Kuzma, with our obligations, which we very much respect under Kuzma, and we'll continue to work that way for it.

00:07:46

Then Prime Minister Carny, while flanked by the youth group leadership from the liberal party, he just basically says, Let's talk about what our priorities are here in Canada. We're moving on from the US US, and we're building sustainable cooperative multilateral relationships across the globe, where we respect other nation's sovereignty. Here, let's play this clip.

00:08:09

Very pleased to be here with our youth caucus, and we're closely together because the focus of the government is building a new future for Canada, a future that's more prosperous, more independent, more sustainable, and fairer. Now, to get to that future, we have to We're going to keep the focus on protecting Canadians, protecting our communities, protecting our borders, protecting our way of life, and supporting many Canadians who feel the squeeze, the cost of living, affordability. We've already taken a number of steps, cutting taxes in a variety of ways, key social programs, comme le soin d'un tel, et tous les autres, les garderies, tout cela, dental care, childcare as well. There's more to come, and I look forward to working to protect communities, to build this economy, support Canadians with a Parliament, cooperatively in Parliament and with the Premier.

00:09:10

Next, I want to bring you to the European Union where Metta Fredrickson, the Prime Minister of Denmark, was speaking. She talked about how through Donald Trump's threats, through his huffing and puffing, and I'm going to blow your house down, she says, What became very clear to nations in the European Union is that when you stand united and you punch the bully back, that is how you win. An appeasement strategy is a recipe for failure. Standing united and punching the bully in the face, sticking the dagger in and twisting it is how you win and how you defeat a pathetic weak individual like Donald Trump. Watch what Prime Minister, Metta Fredrickson, has to say. Play this clip.

00:09:55

First of all, I would like to express how grateful we are in the Kingdom of Denmark, including Greenman, for all the support we have received from all over Europe. It has been extremely important in this very difficult situation that we have been placed in. I think that when Europe is not divided, when we stand together, and when we are clear and strong, also in our willingness as to stand up for ourselves, then the results will show. I think we have learned something during the last couple of days and weeks. Now we, of course, want to find a solution. There is one thing that has something to do with NATO. We have asked NATO to be more present in the Arctic region. I think everybody in NATO agrees about that, the Arctic states, but also other member states, that we need a permanent presence from NATO in the Arctic region, including around Greenland. Then we will discuss in a more traditional, political, diplomatic way with the US about our bilateral relationship between the Kingdom of Denmark and US.

00:11:19

You know that pressure this time of year where it suddenly feels like you need a whole new wardrobe just to keep up with the weather, and half the stuff you buy falls apart the second you actually need it, hoodies especially. This time of year, a good hoodie is essential, but it can be tough to find one that will last through the season. That's why I'm obsessed with the American giant Classic Full Zip Hoodie. The American giant Classic Full Zip Hoodie is made to last a lifetime, so you can count on it to bring you comfort and warmth year after year. Slate magazine called it the greatest hoodie ever made, and from cotton to Zipper, it's made right here in the USA. I've been wearing mine constantly, and the first thing you notice is the quality, the weight of the fabric, the stitching, the zipper. Everything feels intentionally made, and the longer I've had it, the better it's gotten. Soft, but still incredibly durable. American Giant obsesses over every detail, and it shows. Every piece feels like something that's going to be in your closet for years, not months. I love that everything is made in America by the communities that actually create the product.

00:12:21

The iconic classic full-zip hoodie is the jacket that started it all for American Giant. Custom heavyweight fleece and side panels for mobility make it the best ever. The body skimming fit, double-line hood, and reinforced elbow patches mean that this hoodie will last. If you want to branch out, American Giant makes staples that are anything but basic, like the premium Slub Crew T, no BS high-rise pant, and the slim, rough neck pant. Everything is made in America and designed to last, no exception. This season, snag the hoodie that will bring you comfort for life, the American Giant Classic Full Zip. 00:13:14

She also discussed the red lines, which is, We are never having conversations with the United States about them taking over Greenland or Denmark or occupying or having any control that impedes on our or Greenland's sovereignty. Play this clip.

00:13:32

We have said from the very beginning that a discussion about our status as a sovereign state, it cannot be discussed, it cannot be changed. We are willing to work together with US, of course, as we have always done, about security. But our red lines, that also our democratic rules cannot be discussed.

00:13:59

More from Mente Fredriksen right here as well. I'm not sure I heard whether you said you were willing to renegotiate the 1951 pact.

00:14:06

We have a defense agreement with US. We have had it since 1951. We said to the Americans a year ago that we can discuss our agreement on defense, but it has to be in the framework of us as a sovereign state, of course. I'm on the billion, Prime Minister.

00:14:30

Let me show you what the people in Japan are talking about right now. As Thomas Logan, who's there, and I speak with Thomas a lot, and he's got a good pulse of Japan, here's what an individual says right there. This is reflecting, I think, the overall view of Japan towards the United States. What's happening in Minneapolis, USA, is this tragic incident where the nation's executive branch ended up killing one of its own citizens. But the comments from high-ranking government officials afterwards are in things like an unfortunate incident occurred. They're all stuff like, The dead guy was a bad person. I think Japan absolutely cannot become a country with a government like that. It is not a country to take as a model. I think that's so perfectly said, and I think that's how lots of people feel about the Trump regime. I want to show you the President of Spain, what he said about about rejecting Trump's Board of Peace invitation. Why would Spain ever join such a thing where you say you're doing work in Gaza, but you haven't invited the Palestinians to be a part of this? Also, it's just an access of authoritarians.

00:15:44

Here, play this clip.

00:15:47

After consulting with many countries and giving it considerable thought over several weeks, I have decided to inform my colleagues in the European Council that the Spanish government has decided not to participate in the so-called Board of Peace. We appreciate the invitation, but we declined to participate in this board proposed by the US administration. This board is outside the framework of the United Nations and has not included the Palestinian authority. The future of Gaza, nor the future of the West Bank, let's not forget. The future of Palestine as a whole must be led by the Palestinians, as as must the future of its peaceful and secure coexistence with Israel, must be led primarily by Israel and Palestine in a dialog process that implements the two-state solution. The reality is that the United States government is not respecting international law and is straining the transatlantic relationship between the United States of America and the European Union like never before. In view of this, I believe there should be no doubt. Europe must strengthen itself internally and also open up to other parts of the world. Europe wants a world based on clear rules, on respect for international law, and therefore not on vassalage.

00:17:15

A world governed, as I said before, by international law, mutual respect and cooperation. A world, for example, in which the future of Greenland is not decided by one force, trade threats, or even less so, private financial interests. The future of Greenland belongs to its people, its representatives, and, of course, the Kingdom of Denmark.

00:17:41

Speaking of a leader who fights back against an access of authoritarians, it's President Zelenskyy of Ukraine. One of the things that President Zelenskyy said yesterday during a powerful speech with leadership of Poland said the following, We are doing everything to ensure that our joint actions are enough to truly protect Ukraine and therefore Europe. Since February 24th, Poland's support for Ukraine has been unprecedented. Never before at this scale in our shared history. Lithuania is with us at an unprecedented level as well. All Baltic states are with us. Northern Europe is with us. Germany is one of the key defenders of life. France is with us. The United Kingdom is with us. Almost all of Central Europe is with us. Italy is with us. Spain and Portugal, the countries of Southern Europe are with us. Romania and Moldova are with us. In 1863, the insurgents cannot even dream of such unity. And today, that unity is working. The European Union exists and grows stronger every year. He goes, The United States is with us. Canada is with us. Japan is with us. Our call is simple. This unity must be 100% effective, not halfway, not for a few months a year, not until the next election in one European country or another, but fully effective, not what is convenient, not what feels acceptable, but as much as is required to work so that there is no threat to Europe or to any one of our nations.

00:19:14

He says, By the way, take a look right here. Out of a Danish opinion poll from Megaphone, is beyond crazy, as this account says, The red block, their liberal block, regains a majority, and the blue block loses 9% of the vote since last month. The Snap elections have to take place before October. But it's just notable that Metta Fredrickson, Social Democrats, recovered the way it did in the latest survey. The same thing we saw in Canada and in Australia before their elections. I wonder if Metta Fredrickson calls a Snap election soon. Now, I had the opportunity to speak with economist from University in Michigan, Justin Wolfers. Justin Wolfers said, You know what? When we think about the American economy and the damage Donald Trump is doing, we shouldn't be thinking in terms of this quarter or even this year. What Trump is doing to harm us for generations is something that we must focus on. We're seeing with all of these European leaders who are now talking out against Donald Trump, building relationships elsewhere, leaders in Asia, South America, Central America, forming alliances and relationships outside of the United States. How will we ever know the business opportunities lost lost as a result of what Trump's doing?

00:20:32

This is why Trump has bankrupted so many of his own things. And not to mention, I did a whole video on this two days ago where I talked about the World Cup boycott that is now gaining steam and a major German football association executive, or soccer there, football, everywhere else in the US, speaking out against Donald Trump and his regime and calling for a boycott or supporting a boycott. Here's what Professor Wolfers told me. I think This is very powerful stuff, play it.

00:21:01

But let me go one step deeper, Ben. I want to challenge you and literally everyone in the media to think a little harder about what economic things we should be looking at. Here's what I mean. Don't think about next quarter. Don't think about next year, and even look through a recession. Ask the much deeper question, what are the foundations of economic prosperity? Shared prosperity, equitable growth. Look across countries and ask yourself, why is the United States rich and the country of my birth, Papua New Guinea, poor? And we have economists who ask this question, and they load all sorts of numbers into their computers, and they run very complicated analysis, or they do case studies and historical analysis. And the answer turns out to be what we call institutions, the rules of the game, the rules of economic and political life, the fact that we respect the rule of law, that we that we have contestable elections, that we have contracts that we respect, that the government plays a limited and predictable role in economic life, and on and on the list goes. The thing is, those are the things the President is undermining. He's attempting to take away the independence of the Federal Reserve.

00:22:18

He's tried to undermine how much economic statistics reflect reality. He's tried to overturn an election. He's snatching people up off the streets. He's He is calling CEOs and telling them what to do. This is the most interventionist government of my lifetime. It's the least conservative government of my lifetime. When you are the richest country in the world, maybe you're not the ones who should be thinking about ripping down your existing institutions. It's those who are somewhat behind. But that's what the President is doing. That's not going to show up in next quarter's GDP. What that's going to show up as is in a decade's time, there'll be some companies that were never founded. There were some entrepreneurs who couldn't afford to go business school. There were immigrants with great ideas who ended up staying in their home countries instead. And so whatever the next generation's Google or Open AI is, it may not end up being invented or it may not happen on our soil. And we will never see that absence. But our kids will feel it. Our kids will feel it instead of lost opportunities. There'll be businesses they never started. There'll be job opportunities.

00:23:27

There'll be new technologies. There'll be ways of creating a greener safer, more prosperous future that simply aren't possible, but we're not going to see it straight away. And that, I think, is our current media is not well set up to talk about those issues because there's no number comes out, there's no news cycle, there's no Wall Street Journal headline. But it turns out economic research tells us that's the stuff that matters.
