The boycott of the FIFA World Cup in the United States continues to gain traction, both as a result of the human rights abuses, war crimes, ICE and Border Patrol Gestapo kidnapping people, and Donald Trump's horrific conduct. People are boycotting the World Cup, and we reported recently how hotel reservations are down hotels have had to slash prices. They thought that there was going to be a huge demand during the period of time when the World Cup was going to take place. Other tourism officials are saying that they are seeing far less demand than they predicted. Billions of dollars were supposed to be injected into the United States economy as a result of the FIFA World Cup, and all we're seeing right now are governors and mayors who are actually livid at the way FIFA has been handling this, which has made it basically unaffordable for people to travel to and from the various games as well, adding another dimension why people are absolutely livid and boycotting the World Cup. And obviously Donald Trump's unlawful war in Iran, Donald Trump threatening to make Canada the 51st state, Donald Trump threatening war with Greenland, Donald Trump threatening to remove himself from NATO, remove the United States from NATO, Donald Trump inviting Russia to the G20 in December, Donald Trump attacking Ukraine, all of these things adding up where people want nothing to do with this thing, or They do, which is Donald Trump perverted a thing that was meant for the people.

I mean, it was meant to be a celebration of sport, of athletics, and Trump has made it into this grotesque thing. Compound that with the fact that he made FIFA give him the, uh, FIFA Peace Prize, and then he proceeded to invade all of these countries and engage in this horrific conduct. Now we're learning over 120 civil society groups have issued a travel advisory not to go to the United States ahead of the FIFA World Cup, or if you do go to the United States to be very, very careful when you read this travel advisory. I mean, it truly reads like you are going into a war-torn nation, which is essentially what the United States has become under the Trump regime. More than 120 civil society groups issued a travel advisory warning that fans, players, journalists, and other visitors traveling for the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup could be at risk for serious rights violations as the Trump regime doubles down on its draconian immigration and anti-human rights agenda. In their advisory, these 120 groups state that in the absence of meaningful action from FIFA, host cities, or the Trump administration, people traveling to the United States and domestically could be at risk of the following conduct: arbitrary denial of entry and risk of arrest, detention, and/or deportation; expanded restriction and limitation on travel and entry to the United States; invasive social media screening and searches of electronic devices; violent and unconstitutional immigration enforcement, including racial profiling, suppression of speech and protest, and increased surveillance, cruel, inhumane, or degrading treatment, and even death while in ICE detention or custody.

The advisory encourages travelers, including thousands of journalists expected to cover the games, to take steps to protect themselves, such as securing electronic devices by removing facial recognition capabilities when traveling, alerting family, friends, or trusted colleagues of plans to travel to and within the United States. The 2026 World Cup, which will be held between June 11th and July 19th, could bring as many as 10 million visitors to 11 US cities this summer, making it the largest sporting event in history. In February 2026, just days after ICE agents shot and killed Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, ICE agents said they would be playing a key part in the World Cup. And Donald Trump has said they were going to be out there harassing fans, harassing people, and engaging in the Trump regime's agenda. We've heard from some of these organizations that are calling on the boycott or calling on this travel advisory. We've heard from Jamil Dakwar, ACLU Human Rights Program Director, said the following: FIFA has been paying lip service to human rights while cozying up to the Trump administration, putting millions of people at risk of being harmed and their basic rights violated. The Trump administration's abusive actions continue to threaten our communities, tourists, and fans alike, and it's past time that FIFA use its leverage to push for meaningful policy changes and binding assurances that will make people feel safe to travel and enjoy the games.

Jennifer Lee, who leads Dignity 2026, a national coalition working with grassroots, grassroots groups in host cities, says the following: The specter of immigration enforcement this summer has become the leading concern among grassroots organizations across host cities, irrespective of their focus area—housing, labor, immigration. This has become a galvanizing topic. With less than 2 months to go, we are still waiting for public commitments from FIFA and any host city organizers about plans to protect residents. And Daniel Nerona, who's, uh, with Amnesty International USA, said fans, journalists, and others traveling to the United States for FIFA 2026 risk encountering a deeply troubling human rights landscape shaped by the Trump administration's racist immigration policies, mass detention and deportation, and attacks on freedom of expression and peaceful protest. You see the warning right here on this official 2026 World Cup travel advisory. Warning: individuals may encounter or be subjected to the following risks of harms. And then the travel advisory lists those things. You can see all of the different groups that support this, 120 Big credible civil rights groups. We could scroll down and see the names of some of these groups right here, all issuing, uh, this travel advisory. Now, this also comes as the Trump regime is trying to interfere with just the competition in the World Cup as well. Uh, Donald Trump has threatened the Iranian soccer team. Here's what Donald Trump posted on his social media platform a few weeks back. The Iran national soccer team is welcome to the World Cup. But I really don't believe it is appropriate that they be there for their own life and safety. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Donald J. Trump. Now Iran qualified for the FIFA World Cup. When Donald Trump says they shouldn't show up for their own life and safety, the president of the United States saying that about another country's football team or soccer team, I don't know how you can interpret that any way other than a threat.

That he's going to try to kill them or send people to hurt them, or that their lives will be at risk. Now, one of the other steps that Donald Trump has taken is, uh, Paolo Zampolli, who's in the Epstein files. He was the one who introduced Melania to Donald Trump back in the late 1990s in the Kit Kat Club. Remember, he's the one whose girlfriend Amanda Ungaro is saying she's going to go public with all of the dirt she knows about Zampolli and Trump. She's been deported to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. She alleges that Zampolli worked with ICE. In order to expedite her deportation. Zampolli denies it. Zampolli currently holds an ambassadorship title in the United States, and he's like an ambassador of cultural events within the United States. And, uh, one of the things that he's been working with Trump to do in this ambassadorship position is to try to swap Italy, who didn't qualify for the FIFA World Cup with Iran and replace them so that Iran doesn't get to play in the World Cup, and instead Italy gets to play in the World Cup even though Italy didn't qualify. Not only is that offensive to everybody, Italy's pissed off about it.

It's like embarrassing. Italy's like, we didn't make the tournament, we don't deserve to be in the FIFA tournament. You have to qualify by playing. We didn't qualify, so we're not gonna take the position of Iran just because you all say so. And by the way, you know, Iran says that it's willing to play, although it doesn't want to be in the United States. It will play in Canada and Mexico. It doesn't want to play any games in the United States after Donald Trump threatened their life. So you can see the post though of Zampolli. I mean, Zampolli has been making posts about this idea of, uh, swapping Italy for Iran. You see over here, he reposted this from The Athletic, uh, Football club media company. The Iranian embassy to Rome responded, saying the suggestion showed U.S. Moral bankruptcy, and that Italy didn't need political privileges to demonstrate its football greatness. The idea was an effort to repair ties between Trump and Giorgia Meloni after the Italian prime minister fell out with the president after criticizing his attack on Pope Leo XIV over the Iran war, the Financial Times reported.

I confirm I have suggested to Trump and FIFA president Gianni Infantino that Italy replace Iran at the World Cup. 'I am an Italian native and it would be a dream to see Azzurri at the US-hosted tournament. With 4 titles, they have the pedigree to justify inclusion,' Zampolli said. I mean, isn't this the most humiliating and embarrassing stuff ever? And then the Trump regime has the audacity after all I've just shared with you. There was a press conference in the Oval Office the other day where Rubio was like, nothing from the US has told Iran they can't come. We're fine with Iran showing up. I kid you not. This is what Rubio said after all the things I just showed you. This is why they're sociopaths and they're gaslighters. I mean, Trump literally threatened the lives of the Iranian team. Then Trump's special envoy said he wanted to ban them and replace them with Italy. And then the Trump regime has the audacity to say, we never said don't come. Here's what Rubio had to say.

I mean, the problem with the Iranians Iran, it would be not their athletes, it would be some of the other people that would want to bring with them, some of whom have ties to the IRGC. We may not be able to let them in, but not the athletes themselves. But that's— if they decide not to come on their own, it's because they decided not to come. And as I mentioned before, the Financial Times and others reported that Industry executives, tourism industry executives, hotel industry executives say fans are being put off by expensive match tickets, inflation fears, and anti-American sentiment. US hotels are slashing summer room rates as World Cup demand falls short. The Daily Beast also writes, panicked US hotels are slashing room rates for the World Cup amid a demand shortfall exacerbated by what executives believe is being driven by a surge and anti-American sentiment. We caught up with, uh, Congressional World Cup Caucus member, Congresswoman Nellie Powell. Here's what she said to us about FIFA 2026, and she does not seem confident about FIFA being safe for fans. So, Congresswoman, what are some of your concerns moving toward the World Cup in 77 days or so? Um, you know, now that the funds have been released to secure the venues.

And yeah, well, first of all, let me just say they finally did what they should have done a long time ago. If you really go back to their very own— when I'm talking about they, I'm talking about DHS, um, when, uh, uh, when the Department of Homeland Security, when you go to their very own website, their website said back in August that they were going to be able to release those funds September 30th of 2025. So by their own admission, they were obviously— not only did we provide them, we being Congress, provided them the $625 million in order to fund the security and for all of the host cities, but they then were much delayed back in January once again The alarms went off. We've been talking about it. Finally, they, they just handed out or released the funds, I should say, that was long in coming. The games are upon us, practically upon us in 7, 7 days. I know that we really want to make sure that everything's in place. And lastly, what I would say, I want to make sure that immigration and particularly ICE— when I say immigration, I'm referring to ICE.

Itself, that they are absolutely not going to create any kind of chaos for any of the games that are going around and through the entire country, but especially in my very own district of that of MetLife, which is scheduled to take place soon.

And I guess since the funds weren't approved or weren't distributed on time through your work on the World Cup Caucus, is the World Cup safe? Like, are you confident that it's going to be safe for people to travel here from around the world to see these games?

That is exactly what we will absolutely be working towards, making sure that fans and spectators and community residents and all of our constituents that are super excited about being able to participate and see the World Cup, that they're able to do that, uh, not feeling concerned or fearful of any actions that ICE can in fact do. We know the chaos that they have been able to create. We want to make sure that they are staying far away from doing that. We will be secured. That is— that I can assure you. It is absolutely one of the most, um, uh, primary concern of all of us. But we also want them to feel as though that they're there enjoying the part of the viewing of the— and participating in these games without any fear.
