00:00:00

Donald Trump has been caught on camera once again, preparing what he and the regime are calling Midway Blitz. That is an invasion on America's third largest city, Chicago. They will be doing more Blitz Krieg style military invasions across the country, attacking blue cities. What they do first is they send their ICE Gestapo in. They try to harm members of the community, whether you're a migrant or whether you're a citizen. They round you up, they beat you, they disappear you. Then what they're hoping for is that some of the protests will have any element that's not peaceful. Then they use that as a pretext to declare insurrection, and then they do invasion. That's what they are looking to do. I'm reminded of this young girl talking about her dad being kidnapped. When I show you these other videos, behind the kidnappings, behind the putting individuals, human beings, into concentration camps, there are young girls like this. Here, play this clip.

00:01:11

I know all my dad. No, the Hispanic people are not doing nothing bad. They're not doing nothing. Okay, do nothing, but please open the door for the parents. They're stuck over there in jail. I'm not going to have nothing. It's your birthday school. For me. My dad bought me everything for me to live over here, the rent. I don't know what I'm going to eat. I'm so lonely right now. I need my dad to me. My dad didn't do nothing. He's not a criminal. So the government, please put your heart. Let my parents be free with you. Everybody else, please. Don't leave with the child's wet crying and everything.

00:02:06

Absolutely, absolutely tragic. I want to share this with you as well. This is near my home. This is in Van Nijs at a Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles, California, a restaurant I've been at frequently. Ice slash the tires and shatter the car window, detaining a pregnant woman who is a US citizen. Agents point guns directly at the pregnant woman and two men just sitting in the parked car. They're saying the woman did not comply. Her father said she was simply afraid because there were masked men who jumped her wearing masks and who didn't identify themselves, pointing guns in her face. Let me show you this story. Here, play this clip.

00:02:54

Out of this, a community is on edge tonight after federal authorities stopped. A pregnant woman and two other men in Van Nys, smashing her car window with guns drawn. The father of that woman who was briefly detained, says the tactics by federal agents were unnecessary and overly aggressive, and the occupants of the vehicle are legal residents.

00:03:16

John Finneillio, live in Van Nys, with more on what happened. John. Good evening, everyone. It all went down in front of this Mexican restaurant you see right here. This immigration enforcement stop comes just a day after the Supreme Court temporarily lifted limits on those so-called roving ICE patrols. In this case here in Van Ys, it is not clear why federal agents targeted this particular car, but it was a very tense standoff.

00:03:44

Shit, Out of the car.

00:03:45

Out of the car.

00:03:47

With guns drawn, masked federal agents shatter the driver's side window of a car, grab two men inside, and push them to the pavement. You coming here. I'm doing you. A third person in the Orange Chevy Camaro A woman can be heard shouting at one of the agents not to touch her and to identify himself. It all went down in front of this Mexican restaurant on the corner of Kester Avenue and Sherman Way in Van Nys just before 11: 00 AM. Witnesses say the Camaro pulled into the parking lot and was quickly swarmed by unmarked vehicles. She was so afraid, she was so upset. Raul Martínez says his daughter, an American citizen, was in the car with her boyfriend and another friend. She was detained but let go a short time later.

00:04:33

One ICE officers, she told me she don't comply, she didn't want to get off the cars. She said she was afraid because they were pointing guns to them. They have masks.

00:04:45

Who are they? Other witnesses say the two men are lawful permanent residents or green card holders and were hauled away from the scene in handcuffs by agents. Ktla has reached out to ICE and the Department of Homeland Security for clarification on why this car was targeted and what reasonable suspicion or probable cause justified the stop. But we have not heard back. The LAPD tells KTLA that a citizen called 911 around 10: 45 to report masked men pointing guns at a parked car and people shouting. Police say when officers arrived, they realized it was a federal enforcement operation and stayed on scene until the situation was over. Martínez says he's not aware of any criminal history for the men who were riding with his daughter and believes these tactics are a huge injustice.

00:05:33

They do this to people, hard working people.

00:05:36

To me, it's really unfair. We did reach out to DHS and ICE to ask about the circumstances leading up to this stop, but again, we have not heard back. Earlier today, ICE did send us a statement saying that they are carrying out immigration enforcement operations across the country and that due to the at the last pace with which they are carrying out those operations, they are not able to research and respond to questions about every arrest. In Van Nijs, I'm John Finolio, KTLA 5 News.

00:06:12

Next, I want to share this story with you ICE maliciously trapped two roofers on top of a house during the rain. This was in Rochester. Then 200 protesters came and chased the agents away. Neighbors blocked the ladder leading up to the roof, only allowing water up to the men. After a few hours, agents were scared out of the neighborhood, driving away on deflated tires. I want you to watch this. Here, play this clip.

00:06:42

Wanted by protesters in Rochester, causing a dramatic scene in the city's Park Avenue neighborhood, tires flattened on a border patrol vehicle. A very tense encounter, once again, casting Rochester in the spotlight as the fiery debate over immigration heats up across the nation. Good afternoon. I'm Matt Malloy.

00:07:01

I'm Karen Edwards. The operation involved ICE agents on Westminster Road, where the situation escalated.

00:07:07

As 13 WAMs' Loewel Rose explains, he's got new details about that chaotic scene that played out today. Loel, good evening.

00:07:14

Good evening, Matt and Karen. Dozens of people lying on the sidewalk in front of a home on Westminster Road today to protest the ICE-led operation. Now, Border Patrol could only confirm this was an ICE enforcement operation, but the nature of that investigation remains unclear as we wait for a response from immigration officials. Ice out of Rochester. Ice out of Rochester. A chaotic scene on Westminster Road Tuesday morning in Rochester, as federal agents were carrying out an ICE enforcement in a removal operation.

00:07:46

They're here putting on a roof, trying to make a dollar, and paying taxes on that dollar. And ICE was here bothering them. So I came to bother ICE.

00:07:57

Roof rees was among dozens who came to the scene State Assembly member Jen Longsert claims the agents were after people working on a roof.

00:08:05

I showed up today at a call from the New York Integration Coalition as an attorney out of concern that there needed to be official warrants. This is a private residence, so We just want to make sure that everything is happening within the bounds of the law.

00:08:18

Details from federal authorities are limited, but our cameras capture the border patrol vehicle at the scene with flat tires.

00:08:25

And city by city, state by state, we have to stand up and we have to fight, and we have to tell them we're not standing for this anymore.

00:08:33

The incident on Westminster comes as the Trump administration ramps up immigration enforcement across the country. And months after, Department of Justice sued the city of Rochester for a sanctuary city policy. Communities. Today, Borders are Tom Homan commentated on the nationwide issue.

00:08:49

President Trump has been clear we're going to prioritize public safety threats and national security threats, and data shows us exactly what we're doing.

00:08:56

But if you want me to sit here and bless someone being here early, I'm not going to do that.

00:09:00

'cause they cheated the system.

00:09:01

In response to the large crowd, agents left Westminster, and the SUV was towed a few blocks away..

00:09:10

That's very good.

00:09:14

Rochester police says it was not involved in the incident they and no one requested their assistance. Federal authorities tell us the vandalism of that border patrol vehicle is under investigation.

00:09:25

What does feeling safe at home really mean to you? For a long time, I thought it was enough to have good locks and maybe an alarm that would make a lot of noise if somebody actually broke in. But after people close to me were broken into, I realized that real security means preventing that break in, that violation of your space from ever happening in the first place. That's why I trust Simply Safe to protect my home and my family. It's about security that is proactive, not just reactive. Personally, what I love most about Simply Safe is that I know it's working when I'm not thinking about it. It lets me focus on my day because I know someone is already watching out for the things that matter most. Most systems only take action after something bad happens, and that's too late. Simply Safe's new Active Guard outdoor protection helps stop break-ins before they happen. Their AI-powered cameras and live monitoring agents detect suspicious activity around your property. If someone's lurking, the agents talk to them in real-time, turn on spotlights, and can call the police proactively deterring crime before it starts. There are no contracts, no hidden fees.

00:11:10

Now, here's the thing that we see repeatedly with the ICE Gestapo. They're targeting migrants who are working on construction projects, who are working in factories, who are working in restaurants, who are food vendors outside, who are going to church, who are going to their court appearances. That's what they're doing. They're not going after the gang members. We all agree, arrest the gang members. We're all good with that. They're arresting innocent Latinos because of how they look, and it is a horrible thing to see. This is footage, again, right in my backyard. This is from NBC, LA. Let me show you what went down here playing this clip.

00:12:03

New video in tonight of federal agents detaining several people at a Home Depot in Hollywood. Cell phone video shows them outside the Home Depot this afternoon. This business is located off Sunset Boulevard near the 101 in Hollywood. At least one person was taken into custody. It turned into a tense scene with neighbors and witnesses yelling. Our assignment desk has reached out to the Department of Homeland Security for more information on any arrests.

00:12:30

Another image of that crazy scene in Rochester yesterday morning when ICE showed up to arrest a roofing crew working on the house just shows you another angle of the people in the community pushing them away. Here, take a look We hear more about the Trump regime ramping up its ICE surge in the Chicago area. Let's play this clip.

00:13:23

Today, the Trump administration is ramping up immigration enforcement in Chicago.

00:13:27

It comes as the Supreme Court agreed to to lift limits on roving patrols in Los Angeles. Nbc's Adrienne Brodus has the latest from Chicago.

00:13:37

The Trump administration is launching what it calls Operation Midway Blitz. The White House says it's going after what it calls the worst of the worst criminals who are here in the country illegally. Hundreds of Homeland Security officials will help carry out this operation. But some city and state leaders say they don't want it. It's drawn a number of protests even before before the promise operation was launched. Here's more of what state leaders are saying. What we are experiencing today is not normal. People going out in the street and being snatched from their family members is not normal. Meanwhile, President Trump has not deployed the National Guard to Chicago like we've seen happen in DC and Los Angeles. But here on the ground in Chicago, that is a real fear. The White House also releasing a statement named deeming some of the people that they are targeting in this operation, including a 47-year-old who they say has been convicted of battery and aggravated assault, as well as driving under the influence.

00:14:42

We have hundreds of demonstrators, Mark over the past few days in Chicago to protest the Trump regime's ICE enforcement operations. All of these protests have remained peaceful. Here, play this clip.

00:14:56

No, Trump, no KKK, no Racist USA. No, Trump, no KGB, no Racist USA.

00:15:06

More footage right here of undocumented migrants, allegedly, undocumented migrants arrested in Chicago suburbs as the protests are intensifying. Here, play this clip.

00:15:18

Well, processes there are sharing some of their concerns over immigration enforcement by taking to the streets. Joni has the latest on the message they are now sending to leaders.

00:15:29

Trump The Tower is a symbol for protests against the President's immigration policies. Demonstrators have gathered here twice now in response to Operation Midway Blitz. Now, underway. This is new video from Fox News. A crew witnessed the arrest of a 43-year-old alleged undocumented immigrant in Cicero. Federal officials say the man is accused of battery and will face federal charges. There were four arrests on the Southwest Side Sunday. The ICE Deputy Director says they are going after dangerous people, that their action is aimed also at Illinois for its sanctuary policies. This is an opportunity for us to go into sanctuary cities and work against these sanctuary city policies and not let them deter ICE from being able to do our work. Another march on Michigan Avenue stopped traffic during the evening rush hour. Protesters urge neighbors to get involved. We need to come out and stand up against this administration and the actions that they continue to do to harass us in our own communities. Federal agents will target a thousand people with criminal records. They are expected to be active in Illinois for the month of September. Joni Lump, Fox 32, Chicago.

00:16:42

I want to share this story with you as well so you can see the effects in other areas. There are so many people, innocent, hardworking migrants who just want a fair shake, who have been detained, thrown into concentration camps, deported, people who have lived here for decades, who have paid taxes, who have contributed to our country. You'll see right here, their pets have no home. So the great work of people at the Humane Society have had to step in and help out. Here, play this clip.

00:17:17

As the number of deportations continues to rise under the Trump administration's crackdown on illegal immigration, local pet shelters are feeling the impact.

00:17:25

Local 10's Christian De La Rosa reports outside the Humane Society of Broward County.

00:17:30

Jill Badlauter. Hi. Is trying to be a good neighbor till the very end.

00:17:35

Our neighbor, sadly, is being deported, and they are unable to take the dogs with them. So now the dogs need a new home. Good That's the way.

00:17:45

The Coral Spring's mom opening the door of her home to 13-year-olds Coco and Blue.

00:17:51

That family is under immense stress.

00:17:54

The Shitsu Maltese mix duo is being surrendered by its family, now forced to leave.

00:18:01

Probably going to be easy for people to say, Oh, just take the dogs with you. But unfortunately, that's not the reality for a lot of these families.

00:18:09

As ICE arrests and deportations climb, pet rescues across the country are reporting a rise in animals being left behind by deported immigrants. The Humane Society of Broward County tells Local10 News they've had a handful of pets dropped off in recent months by their deported owners. But the number may be much higher as operations like Miami Dade County Animal Services say they've only recently began tracking this issue.

00:18:40

I think we can all agree across the political board that dogs deserve good homes.

00:18:45

For now, Bet Latto, who already has two dogs, says she'll keep trying to find the siblings a home as she says goodbye to her longtime neighbors.

00:18:56

So insane to see this happening to such a good family family. And this is only one story of many and many to come, which is really, really heartbreaking.

00:19:09

So if you're interested in adopting Coco or Blue, we are posting a link to connect to. It'll be under this story on our website, local10. Com. In the meantime, as we reported, this is really a broad issue that's affecting a lot of pet rescues here locally. And Local10's animal advocate J. C. Birch, is taking a deeper look into the concerns and what is going on. Her investigation is on Monday. Live in Fort Lauderdale, I'm Christian De La Rosa, Local10 News.

00:19:42
