Transcript of Newsom Strikes Back after Trump DOJ Investigates New

California Governor Gavin Newsom just issued a powerful video response after the news that Donald Trump's DOJ has launched a criminal investigation into Newsom and into the first partner, into California Governor Gavin Newsom's wife. Now Governor Newsom is out there saying, we have nothing to hide. This is more of Donald Trump weaponizing the DOJ. He says that, uh, Newsom says that he and the first partner of California are not afraid and they will fight this head on and that they will stand up and that this doesn't scare them at all. Here's what California Governor Gavin Newsom said. He goes, today my wife and I joined Donald Trump's hit list. He has directed his Department of Justice to investigate us. They have not found a crime. They are simply trying to find one. He isn't coming after me because some mean tweets, but because I am considering running for president. He hates that I consistently call him out. He is simply the most corrupt president in American history. We have nothing to hide. Mr. President, come after me. I am not going anywhere. The country is watching. Now, a person familiar with the matter confirmed to the New York Times that there are multiple federal criminal investigations underway relating to Governor Newsom, including one looking at his wife's finances, his wife's nonprofits.

The person says, No, this is not being initiated by Trump and the feds in DC. This is being done independently from California's United States Attorney's Office, which I know we all know isn't true. In recent days, federal agents have knocked on the doors of family, friends, and former employees, not because they found a crime, because they're simply trying to find one. They're demanding records, they're abusing the grand jury process, digging through years and years of random documents. Donald Trump isn't just coming after me because of my mean tweets. He's doing it through the receipt of a $400 million private jet from a foreign government that he plans to keep when he leaves office. Through his son's ventures in countries where his own administration is simultaneously making policy. His personal fortune has skyrocketed by $4 billion since making his return to office. I'd like to say something to my wife. These times are not normal. They're not ordinary. I love you, and I'm sorry he's doing this. You have not earned a single one of the indignities that he's trying to inflict on you and our children. And to Donald Trump, this country, this country does not belong to you. It does not belong to your cronies. And we're going to fight your lawlessness. And we're going to continue to remind the people of this country of your corruption. That same corruption our founders warned us against. As we move to celebrate our 250th anniversary, I'm going to keep reminding Americans of what they warned would happen if a man with no character ever held the office of presidency. Now, before we learned about this criminal investigation launched by the Trump regime into Newsom, California Governor Gavin Newsom posted the following image: 80 years old. Happy birthday, Mr. President. Also, 80 is the new 100, with a birthday boy cap on Donald Trump right there. Newsom also put out the following, uh, repost. California Governor Gavin Newsom says Trump is using the White House to promote companies he holds stock in and enrich himself. Newsom says true. We learned from a report earlier today from CBS that in quarter one, Trump traded between $250 million to close to $700 million in stocks in that quarter alone. Um, also Trump bought stock in UFC's parent company as he promoted the fight. Newsom posts the following inconvenient truth for Trump administration. The 5 states with the biggest gas price increases are all Republican-led states. Are those big price increases due to their, uh, energy policies? Newsom then posts the following price increases over the last year. Gas is up 41%, airline fare up 27%, energy up 24%, tobacco up 8%, fruits and vegetables up 6%, car repair up 6%, clothing costs up 5%. Newsom also posts the following: Trump says, I love inflation.

Wow. Trump just admitted he loves it when Americans pay more for the same things that cause less.
