Donald Trump's former Attorney General Pam Bondi was a no-show to her deposition today before the House Oversight Committee, despite being lawfully subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee. She refused to show up. She unilaterally canceled her deposition as her coverup and the Trump regime's coverup of the Epstein files continues. Now, just because former Attorney General Pam Bondi is no longer the Attorney General and the acting Attorney General is Todd Blanch, that doesn't stop a lawfully issued subpoena in her name. But this is precisely what Pam Bondi and the Trump regime is claiming. And so she just thinks she's above the law and doesn't show up to depositions when she receives subpoenas. Hillary Clinton showed up, Bill Clinton showed up, they sat there, but Pam Bondi, who's at the heart of this coverup, who arguably is one of the lead figures in this criminal cartel. She's refused to show up. Now, Democratic Congress member Robert Garcia, who serves as the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, put out the following statement: Pam Bondi is evading a lawful congressional subpoena by failing to appear before the House Oversight Committee for a deposition about the Epstein files and the White House coverup.

00:01:51

This subpoena applies to her regardless of her title. She must appear before the committee, and if she continues to ignore the law, Oversight Democrats will move forward with contempt proceedings immediately. We will fight until there is true accountability and justice. The House Oversight Dems, through their official account, put out the following statement as well: Pam Bondi is evading a lawful congressional subpoena by failing to appear before our committee. They again say they will be holding her in contempt if she doesn't show up. Congresswoman Stansbury, Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, also says Pam Bondi was subpoenaed to appear before the Oversight Committee today. This was not a, quote, pretty please. This was a legally binding congressional subpoena. If she does not make arrangements to appear immediately, we will move to hold her in contempt. Now, what are Republicans saying on the House Oversight Committee? Well, of course they are complicit in this disgusting coverup. They have worked to help her cancel her deposition. This is supposed to be Oversight. And I don't care what political party you're from. Oversight means oversight, not coverup, but that's what this Trump regime is doing with James Comer. So here's what the Republicans are saying.

00:03:11

Ranking Member Garcia is a hypocrite. The Clintons defied lawful subpoenas for 7 months and he said nothing. He even voted against holding them in contempt. Now he's outraged over a rescheduling for a former AG. Garcia's outrage is purely performative. Excuse me, the Clintons showed up. For their deposition. And the last time I checked, they'd been out of public service for at least Hillary Clinton about 10 years and Bill Clinton maybe twice, 3 times as long as that versus the former attorney general who was just recently fired, who was intimately involved in the Epstein coverup.

00:03:48

I don't know.

00:03:48

I see a little distinction there and I don't care what political party you're from. You should see a distinction there as well. So The acting Attorney General, Todd Blanch, went on state regime media, which calls itself Fox, and here's what he had to say about this coverup and Bondi not showing up. Play this clip.

00:04:04

I know that you have the authority to go ahead and release more, do you not? And you have the authority to go to Congress, perhaps?

00:04:12

No, we have released everything. So listen, we reviewed 6 million pieces of paper. What we released were anything associated with the Epstein files. So there we are not sitting on a single piece of paper. Nothing that should be released. If we find something else tomorrow, we'll release it. I don't anticipate we will. So the misguided assumption that there is more to be released is because we reviewed millions and millions of pages within the department, millions of which had nothing to do with Epstein. So it's not as if we looked at a document and said, you know, we're not going to release that. If we didn't release it, it's because it was not responsive to the law and therefore not part of the Epstein files.

00:04:49

He also said this about Melania Trump. Let's play it.

00:04:52

Well, last week, the first lady dropped a bomb at the White House. Here's Melania Trump at the White House talking about the Epstein files.

00:05:01

The lies linking me with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein need to end today. I call on Congress to provide the women who have been victimized by Epstein with a public hearing specifically centered around the survivors.

00:05:19

Questions that come off of this. Did you know she was going to make that statement? Did you have information prior? Will you act on her request before Congress? And when you remember what the president said, when you give all the files out there, the innocent people are going to be hurt. And we've seen that to some degree. How would you answer those three questions?

00:05:37

So no, the First Lady does not check with me before she speaks to the American people, and I wouldn't expect her to. But what she said rings true to me. And what I mean by that is there have been tons of false narratives around her and her relationship, or lack thereof, with Epstein. And so I get her frustration and complaints, and I readily agree with it. As far as her call to Congress, it's exactly the same thing that we have been saying for the past year, which is the following: if there is a victim that has evidence against anybody, they should absolutely report it to the FBI, and we will take it seriously no matter what. And so her call to Congress to have witnesses come forward and testify is not inconsistent with what the Department of Justice and President Trump, frankly, has been saying for many years. And so I know that you have the—

00:06:26

now folks, this is a concerted effort by MAGA and MAGA Republicans on the House Oversight Committee. For example, Byron Donalds said the following. He's on the Oversight Committee. He's running for governor of Florida as a MAGA Republican. Play this clip.

00:06:39

I wanna move to some domestic issues now. Major headline this week, the First Lady Melania Trump, uh, put Jeffrey Epstein back in the headlines when she made a surprise announcement denying ties to the convicted sex offender. You're a member of the House Oversight Committee, which was scheduled to hear from former Attorney General Pam Bondi this coming Tuesday about her handling of the Epstein files. The Justice Department says Bondi's ouster excuses her from having to appear. Do you think Pam Bondi should testify this week?

00:07:14

Look, I don't actually— at this point, I don't really think so. Now that she's a former Attorney General of the United States.

00:07:18

Well, Hillary Clinton— hold on. Hillary Clinton was in office and she testified.

00:07:22

Well, let me be— let me be very clear. Clear. We're gonna be continuing with our investigations into this matter. The Oversight Committee has been steadfastly working on this, also with survivors who chose to come forward to bring more information. I think if a former AG Bondi comes in, that'll be a determination of the committee as a whole. Let me also say that the now former Attorney General, she did come into the committee in a session to have open conversation and dialog with Republican and Democrat members. Republican members came— hold on, let me explain this. This is important. Republican members came to that city hearing asking the attorney, the former Attorney General Bondi, important questions. The Democrats refused to ask her any questions because they wanted the cameras on, because they wanted to turn it into a political circus. And I was in that room and disgusted, quite frankly, because you had members on the Democrat side of the aisle who had ample ability to question former AG Bondi, and they refused because the cameras weren't on.

00:08:21

Congressman Morales.

00:08:22

Let's not forget, during his opening press conference as acting Attorney General, General. Here's what Todd Blanchard had to say.

00:08:28

Now former Attorney General Bonnie was facing subpoena from the House Oversight Committee. Uh, do you expect that she will comply with that, or will this administration, with the Justice Department, invoke some sort of privilege to block her from testifying? So I— look, we— as everybody knows, the Attorney General and I went to the House Oversight a few weeks ago. We answered every single question asked for a couple hours. What happens now that She's the former attorney general, and there's the subpoena out there. I think I'll leave to Chairman Comer and others to figure out. I don't have an answer to that. You won't be invoking a privilege or anything? Excuse me? You won't invoke any kind of privilege to block? No, I definitely did not say that. I said I will leave it to Chairman Comer to work out with others. I just don't have an answer for you, but I'm not committing to anything. I'm just saying I don't know. Good.

00:09:16

More from Todd Blanch here as well in the coming days.

00:09:24

You read the same exact communication from the president that I did. Pam Bondi is a trusted friend of President Trump's, will remain so. And no, nobody has any idea why the attorney general is no longer the attorney general and I'm the acting attorney general, except for President Trump.

00:09:42

And here's what Ro Khanna had to say about Pam Bondi. Let's play it.

00:09:45

The top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee says he still wants to hear from Pam Bondi. Pam Bondi, with her deposition scheduled for April 14th. Do you think Pam Bondi still needs to come and testify even though she is now a private citizen, Congressman?

00:10:00

Yes.

00:10:01

I mean, if we could chase Hillary Clinton, who hasn't been in office for 20 years, certainly we can get Pam Bondi to explain why she covered up documents, why we haven't had prosecutions. But, Kristen, the most important thing is there need to be two tests for this next Attorney General. First, the Senate needs to fight to make sure that they commit to releasing all Epstein files with no redactions other than survivors. And second, they need to begin investigations and prosecutions. There are people like Les Wexner and Leon Black who have allegedly had such horrific abuse, and there has not been any investigation.

00:10:34

Let's also reflect on the fact that when Pam Bondi a few weeks back, about a month and a half ago or so, decided that she was gonna show up before the House Oversight Committee voluntarily, not under oath, and just spew Trump talking points. And Democrats objected to it because they said, you're under subpoena. Don't try to use this as a pretext to blow up your subpoena because we know you're terrified to testify under oath, Pam Bondi. And she's like, I will follow the law. I will follow the law. Here, play this clip.

00:11:05

Sure. Earlier this month, a bipartisan group of lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee voted to subpoena you to appear for a closed closed-door deposition. Do you plan, do you, will you commit to, will you commit to complying with that subpoena and appearing for a closed-door deposition? I made it crystal clear. I will follow the law.

00:11:23

Now, a reminder, what the Trump regime is claiming is that there are all of these privileges that they believe exist, which prevents Pam Bondi from having to testify, like attorney-client privilege, work product privilege, other invocations of kind of classified information, something called a deliberative process privilege, where they're refusing to turn over tons of Email. So when Todd Blanchard is like, we're not turning over what the law says we shouldn't turn over, they've interpreted the law to mean lots of internal communications, literally tens of millions of documents they are withholding. And I believe it's some of the worst documents regarding Donald Trump and his regime. Now, let me show you as well, just a reminder what Pam Bondi was saying at her congressional hearing, which I'm sure everybody remembers. Let's play this clip.

00:12:11

The Dow is over $50,000. I don't know why you're laughing. You're a great stock trader, as I hear, Raskin. The Dow is over 50,000 right now. The S&P at almost 7,000, and the Nasdaq smashing records. Americans' 401(k)s and retirement savings are booming. That's what we should be talking about. We should be talking about making Americans safe. We should be talking about what does a DAO have to do with anything? That's what they just asked. Are you kidding?

00:12:45

Mr. Jordan, Mr. Jordan, committee will be in order. Mr. Jordan, am I going to get an extra 45 seconds added to my time? The committee will be in order. The time belongs to the gentleman from Texas. Ms. Bondi, the Attorney General can respond.

00:13:01

Thank you. The DAO has shattered 50,000 for the first time. This is crazy. They said it couldn't be done in 4 years, yet President Trump has done it in 1 year.

00:13:15

We caught up with Democratic Congresswoman Ansari the other day, and here's what she said.

00:13:19

Congresswoman, are you concerned that Trump being compromised by the Epstein files is putting our troops in danger abroad, given that's what our adversaries are using to put the narrative on the war?

00:13:31

I do. I believe that Donald Trump and his administration, including Attorney General Pam Bondi, have been covering up the Epstein files for over a year now, actually. There is a subpoena by the Oversight Committee. There's the Epstein Files Transparency Act. And over and over and over again, we have seen Donald Trump either refused to release the files, illegally redact names from the files. There are now very serious allegations against him individually, from a woman who said that she was sexually abused by him when she was a minor. This is incredibly serious, and I think Donald Trump will do whatever it takes to distract from this.

00:14:20

And what do you expect from today?

00:14:21

And finally, here's what Donald Trump said before Pam Bondi was fired. About how terrific she was and watch this kind of mafia-style warning that he gave her. Play this clip.

00:14:31

Not gonna let anything bad happen to this country. Also with us are Attorney General Pam Bondi, who's a terrific person and fan, and she's proving how tough she is. And I think the next 3 years she's gonna really prove it, right?

00:14:49

Huh?

00:14:50

Like these people.
