Welcome to the Level Up Podcast. I'm your host, Paul Alex. I went from being a cop to an 8-figure entrepreneur that helps average people like you and me make money every single day. I created this podcast to help you get motivated and to crush your goals. Let's win together. Remember, I have your 6. Get ready to level up right now. What's up everyone? Welcome back to the Level Up Podcast. I'm Paul Alex, and today we are diving into a massive vulnerability for early-stage founders. Taking advice from the wrong people. Because let's be real, if you listen to financial advice from someone who has never built a business, you are going to end up exactly where they are. Let's break down how to build an ironclad feedback filter. First, understand that everyone has an opinion, but very few have a track record. Too many people let their well-meaning family members or broke friends talk them out of massive opportunities. It is a tragedy. If you are about to take a calculated risk on a new venture, the worst thing you can do is ask for validation from someone who plays it safe. Whether it is an uncle who worked a corporate job for 40 years or a peer who gave up, their fear is not your reality.

If you accept their limits, you kill your ambition. Second, only accept criticism from people standing on the mountain you want to climb. People do not reach the elite levels of wealth it by polling the general public. They reach it by paying close attention to mentors who have actually survived the fire. So, instead of crowdsourcing your business strategy on social media, silence the noise. Make a list of 3 people you respect and ignore everyone else. Lastly, unwavering conviction is your greatest shield. When you completely block out the skeptics and trust your own data, your execution becomes lethal. Selective hearing, deep market research, and absolute self-belief create a bulletproof mindset. When you filter the feedback, you protect the vision. Bottom line, do not take directions from someone who has never been to your destination. Protect your ears, trust the mentors, and execute the plan, because when you do, you will move faster than ever. Thanks for tuning into the Level Up Podcast. I'm Paul Alex reminding you, Free advice is usually the most expensive kind. Filter the noise, trust the experts, and as always, keep leveling up. Thanks for listening up to the Level Up Podcast. If you enjoyed today's episode, make sure to share with a family friend and everyone you know who's ready to level up.

Episode description

Not every opinion deserves access to your vision.

In this episode of The Level Up Podcast, Paul Alex breaks down one of the most dangerous mistakes early-stage founders make—taking advice from the wrong people.

Because let’s be real…

Everyone has an opinion.

But very few people have results.

And if you take business advice from someone who has never built a business…

You are borrowing their limitations.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

Why well-meaning advice can still destroy your momentum

How to separate opinions from real expertise

Why you should only accept criticism from people with proven results

How to build a feedback filter that protects your confidence and strategy

Because the wrong voices can talk you out of the right opportunity.

Most people ask for approval from:

Family members
Broke friends
Risk-averse coworkers
People who never took the leap

But high-level operators know better.

They listen to mentors.
They study the data.
They trust proven experience.
They ignore the noise.

The truth?

You cannot take directions from someone who has never been where you are trying to go.

Protect your ears.

Protect your strategy.

Protect the vision.
