In my previous career as a detective, taking things personally clouded your judgment and got people hurt. In sales, taking things personally destroys your pipeline. Too many entrepreneurs tie their entire identity to the outcome of a single deal. Whether you are selling digital marketing or high-ticket consulting, the word "no" is just part of the mathematical equation.
If you get emotional, you kill your logical strategy. Second, you have to care about their result, but not about the sale itself. People do not buy from someone who needs their money to pay rent. They buy from absolute authorities who are perfectly fine walking away. So instead of begging them to sign the contract, confidently explain how you can solve their problem and then completely let go of the outcome. Make your indifference your ultimate closing technique. Lastly, total detachment creates unshakable confidence. When you stop caring about individual losses and focus entirely on your daily input volume, your posture becomes magnetic. Cold logic, massive daily action, and zero desperation create an elite closer. When you stop needing the deal, the deals start coming to you. Bottom line, you cannot control the prospect, but you absolutely control your reaction.
