Of the Week. It's the best day of the week. I mean, it's quite the week. We got Christmas Eve, we got Christmas, we got the Feast of St. Stephen, which everyone forgets on Boxing Day. My nonna used to call me every Boxing Day, Happy Feast of St. Stephen. Weirdly, she was the only one. But the reason today is the best day of the week, it's time for another episode of Oh, Wow, where we take a look at the best from around the OHL over the past week. Let's not waste any more time. Let's start with Max Numesnikow. There's a reason he's not called Mid and Namesnikov.

00:00:31

Sing in transition, jumping back into the offensive zone. Rylan Sing, drop it back.

00:00:36

Nifty move by Namesnikov, fired. Scores.

00:00:38

Oh my goodness. Filthy goal by Mad Max. He breaks his goal in street. Mad Max reaching double digits on the ledger in 24, 25 before the holiday break. Oh, eeu.

00:00:53

It's not called Oh, eeu, but eeu. Everything about Max Namesnikov is extra. I mean, his name is Max. He's from a place called Wolverine, Michigan, which I just learned is a place, and he can score goals like this at just 5'8, but he packs a lot of skill into that build. Max Namesnikow, the move, the shot, the shot on this goal. Oh, wow. Now, somehow, Namesnikow at 5'8 is not the shortest player featured in Oh, Wow! This week. Listed at 5'7, Quentin Page of the Peterborough Peats. The goal, but first, the thiever 3. 67 is well represented right there in their hometown. Peterborough represented with Peterborough's own Porter. Martoni, here's the steal.

00:01:38

Plage, back and forth. He scores. Oh my goodness. That was filthy. What a play. The strip on Henry Mews. One of the best players in the league. Then he goes in and makes an unbelievable move.

00:01:55

Yeah, whoa. Turning defense into offense personified, Quintin Page steals the puck, puts on, I counted about 45 moves before putting the puck in the back of the net. He won a Championship with the Peterborough Pete's in 2023. He played 23 games during the playoffs that year. Here he is as an undrafted player, but still performing incredibly. He put up 18 points in '61 games last year, but with 10 in just 25 this season, he's on pace to blow that total out of the water. If he can keep doing stuff like that, yeah. Quintin Page, what a move What a... About several dozen moves. Oh, wow. For our next 'Oh, wow' highlight, you never forget your first goal, do you? Well, Nathan Amodowski of the Ottawa '67s is never going to forget his first career, Ontario Hockey League goal because it's on the highlights everywhere.

00:02:47

There by the Black Hawk prospect. Nice cut. Coming in here is Amadowski. Amadowski scores. Nathan Amodowski, give him in that fuck. An early Christmas gift for Amadowski. His first career, O HL goal, and we're tied at three.

00:03:06

Oh, wow. Oh, yeah. Nathan Amadowski is just 16 years old, so he's had to earn his stripes in the O HL. He's played for a couple dozen games, and he still didn't have his first goal. Well, for the 6'2 kid from Alliston, Ontario, his first goal was worth the wait. Dangling around the defender with a little goodbye, and then the moves in tight. That was Amadovsky's first, but I'm willing to bet, probably not his last, Nathan Amadowski. Oh, wow. Now, one thing you might have noticed about the first three highlights, they were all by players who haven't been drafted into the NHL yet. Well, our next player has, and you might want to pay attention. Reilly Patterson of the Barry Colts was picked in the fourth round, 125th overall at this past June's NHL draft. Watch what he does with the puck in midair. The left wing side.

00:03:56

Stuart took a hit, but he got it out. Wakely, the goal scorer, dumps it in. Kuprowski trying to clear it aside, and it's going to be batted out of midair hole. To the middle of the net. A weird, awkward bounce off the boards. Reilly Patterson drives to the middle of the net. Matthew Kuprowski can't clear it off his back and Oh, wow.

00:04:15

You know what? It's teetering on a danget. There's a little, if you're a goal tender, tend the goal there. But when you chop at the buck, trying to get it out of the way of danger, you don't expect the attacker to come in and play T-ball with it. But not every attacker is Riley Patterson. He's currently tied for the Barry Colts lead in goal scoring, and you can see why. Riley Patterson, Vancouver Canucks draft pick. Oh, wow. For our next play, Washington Capitals fans, if you're not paying attention, pay attention. Drafted in the fourth round of the 2023 NHL draft, Patrick Thomas, the captain of the Brantford Bulldogs. Holy cow.

00:04:53

When they get everybody healthy. As Patrick Thomas over the line, trying to cut his way into the left circle.

00:05:00

His shot scores. What a play by the captain. Sorry, no, not Holy cow. Oh, wow. Patrick Thomas receives the pass at his own blue line, which is good. It was a good pass, and he received it well. Hooray. But there's a lot of ice between your own blue line and the opposing goal. Thomas carves through all of it like butter, the little goodbye dangle around everyone. Just when you think he's going to go around the net because the angle is impossible, he snipes through the little ray of sunshine he sees. Last year, in 57 games, Patrick Thomas had a career high of 21 goals and 66 points. This season, he's on pace to slap that. Somehow, he's only taken two minor penalties all season. He's well-behaved. That's why he wears the C, Patrick Thomas. Oh, wow. Speaking of players who have been ridiculous this season, Luke Misa, of the Brampton Steelheads, formerly known as the Mississauga Steelheads. Oh my gosh, just watch. Misa will skate it ahead. Fulton has steam for Mesa scores.

00:06:04

Crasht heavily into the end boards after it. But what a goal for Luke Mesa.

00:06:10

Doesn't take long to push the point streak to 15 games, 29 points over that stretch and all kinds of time, of course, left in this one.

00:06:18

Speed through the neutral zone. Here is the key.

00:06:21

Oh, wow. This is one of those ones where you're hesitant to celebrate too quickly. Oh, he's up. Wow. Luke Mesa, fifth One-down pick of the Calgary Flames in this past June's NHL draft beats every Oshua general on the ice and then himself. Talk about giving it his all to make a play. He cuts through everybody and then smashes into the end boards Even his teammates are like, Hooray? He had 81 points in 66 games last season, and somehow he's competing with that again. If Luke Misa plays 66 games again this season, he's on pace for 99, so he's on 100-point watch. The Calgary Flames picked four OHL players in this past draft, Smart Team: Zane Parek, Jacob Bataglia, Henry Mews, and not least of all, Luke Misa. Oh, wow. For our final A wow play. We're going to file this under what are kids eating these days? Kieran Walton, who, by the way, is 6'6.

00:07:23

So again, an 04 power play. So one for three is what the Woles' stats sound right now. Beautiful. Scores. Out.

00:07:39

Move number one. Move number two.

00:07:42

How about another?

00:07:44

Rack it up. No. I think no. I spoke to them over there. Them, it's them. They said no. You're not allowed to be a 6'6, 216 pound, 18-year-old, first of all. And players that are 6'6, 216 pounds at 18 years old who can do that are not supposed to go in the sixth round of the NHL draft. Can we get some more scouts to go to games in Sudbury or what? Walton currently leads the Sudbury Wolves in scoring by 19 points over his next closest teammate, and he already has more goals this season before Christmas than he did all of last season. 186 guys went ahead of him at the NHL draft this past June. Oh, wow. Yeah, I'm thinking the Winnipeg Jets are I'm feeling pretty good about that pick right now, dude. What did you think of this week's Oh, Wow video?
