More violence erupts in Minneapolis after a fatal ICE-involved shooting.

It was an act of domestic terrorism, and a woman attacked them and those surrounding them and attempted to run them over and ram them with her vehicle.

A woman was shot and killed in Minneapolis Wednesday morning by an officer who says he felt his life was in danger.

Daily Wire Immigration reporter, Jennie Tear, joins us now with the tragic and explosive story. Jennie, first, what can you tell us about what transpired yesterday?

Well, we are just seeing chaos unfold in the streets of Minneapolis after a shooting involving an ICE officer. So what happened was we had a vehicle that was apparently blocking those ICE officers from moving through a street. They're there to help the Trump administration with their mass deportation agenda, and they were trying to just get through. This woman who was driving the vehicle, who was behind the wheel, was approached by those ICE officers in video that has since come out, and they're asking her to get out of the vehicle. She does not get out. She eventually reverses the vehicle and then moves forward. One angle of a video appears to actually show that the car did make contact with an ICE officer, and that's when the shots were fired. Those shots, DHS says, were defensive because that officer felt that his life was in danger. This woman has since been identified by her mother, who says she was not involved in ICE activities. Now, this woman is 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. Homeland Security Secretary Noam actually held a press conference Wednesday night where she talked about the scene that unfolded before this and said that the woman actually was, stalking those ICE agents and even impeding them before this all unfolded during the day.

Here's what she said what led up to that incident.

At 10: 25 AM Central Time, Immigration and Customs Enforcement were carrying out lawful operations here in Minneapolis. Because of the adverse weather that Minneapolis has seen in recent snow, one of the vehicles became stuck and ensnared in the snow. Ice officers and agents approached the vehicle of the individual in question who was blocking the officers in with her vehicle, and she had been stalking and impeding their work all throughout the day. Ice agents repeatedly ordered her to get out of the car and to stop instructing, obstructing law enforcement, but she refused to obey their commands. She then proceeded to weaponize her vehicle, and she attempted to run a law enforcement officer over. The ICE officer fearing for his life and the other officers around him and the safety of the public fired defensive shots.

We know that the leadership in Minnesota has already come out against Trump's deportation efforts. How are they responding to this?

Exactly. We know that Minnesota operates as a sanctuary state. That's largely why the Trump administration has deployed more than 2,000 federal officers from both ICE and Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations now, where they're also investigating those fraud allegations that are tied to the Somali community. Walsh has come out. He says they're investigating this, the governor there. He's also said he's seen the video. He said, Don't believe this propaganda machine. The state will ensure there's a full fair and expeditious investigation to ensure accountability and justice. He later spoke on Wednesday during a press conference saying that he would have National Guard troops at the ready in case there is chaos in the streets with all the outrage coming out about this shooting that we're seeing from the public. Then we also had the city's mayor, Jacob Fray, who came out, and he had some really harsh words. Listen to what he said.

They are already trying to spin this as an action of self-defense.

Having seen the video of myself, I want to tell everybody directly.

That is bullshit.

Now, Noam, at a later press conference Wednesday, hit back at this. Listen to her response.

He doesn't know what he's talking about. It's very clear that this individual was harassing and impeding law enforcement operations. Our officer followed his training, did exactly what he's been taught to do in that situation, and took actions to defend himself.

Now, we all remember how Minneapolis descended into chaos after George Floyd was killed. Are we expecting the same response here?

It seemed that after this shooting, there was an almost immediate response from anti-ice agitators who took to the streets and were classically lashing with law enforcement down there. There was local law enforcement deployed to quell this violence. Actually, it resulted in those officers deploying some crowd control, measured what appeared to be some tear gas. Now, we already know that there's about 2,000 federal officers on the ground, so it remains to be seen if things will really pop off like they did in 2020 and if the federal authorities will respond to that. President Trump went to Truth Social and posted about this. He said he had reviewed some of the footage of this incident, and he called it a horrible thing to watch. He said the woman screaming was obviously a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly obstructing and resisting who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE officer who seems to have shot her in self-defense. He also blamed the radical left for this incident.

Well, as we said, a tragic situation and a potentially explosive one as well in Minneapolis. Jennie, thank you so much for reporting on this. Thank you. The Trump administration continues to exert pressure on Venezuela, seizing two oil tankers Wednesday, one flying under a Russian flag.

Daily Wire senior editor, Kabbit Phillips is here with more on this latest daring military mission. Kabbit, this was a shocking turn of events. What happened just over the past few days with this oil tanker?

Right. So remember, as part of the effort to evade American sanctions, Venezuela has deployed a so-called dark or shadow fleet of oil tankers. These ships often sail outside of legal shipping lanes and deploy false flags, a lot of times using fraudulent paperwork to hide their country of origin, in this case, Venezuela. Now, under international law, those ships are considered stateless vessels, and that makes them subject to search by the US and others. Now, back in December, one of those ships, called Bella-1, sailed from Iran to pick up oil in Venezuela. When it was ordered to stop by the US Coast Guard, it fled and set off a weeks long chase. By Wednesday, the Bella 1 had made it to the North Atlantic between Iceland and Britain, and here is where it gets very interesting. While on the run, the ship began displaying a Russian flag. The sailors reportedly hastily painted a Russian flag, actually on the side of ship, and it changed its official registration to, you guessed it, Russia. Moscow reportedly, urge the US then to stop its pursuit and went as far as deploying a submarine and other vessels to escort it. Presumably, it was going to a Russian port.

But despite those objections from Moscow, yesterday morning, the Coast Guard, assisted by Navy gun ships and anti-submarine craft, successfully seized the vessel once and for all. Here's White House Press Secretary, Caroline Lebet with more.

With respect to these ships' seizures, that means enforcing the embargo against all dark fleet vessels that are illegally transporting oil and only legitimate commerce, determined by the United States, is going to be permitted.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said the crew of that vessel are now, under full investigation and criminal charges will be sued against all culpable actors. For their part, Moscow claimed the vessel had been given lawful permission to fly under their flag. They slammed the seizure as, piracy, saying, no state has the right to use force against vessels duly registered in the jurisdictions of other states. But the Trump administration is clearly not slowing down. Hours after taking the Bella, the Pentagon announced the seizure of yet another illegal tanker, this one heading for Venezuela, and this time in the Caribbean.

Now, the backdrop to this is the White House is working to gain control over Venezuelan oil. Can you walk us through the latest on that front?

President Trump has made clear that he is willing to lift sanctions on Venezuela in exchange for more control over their oil industry. Essentially, he wants to make sure that their oil goes to America and other allies and not Russia, Cuba, China, etc. According to the administration, The only oil transported in and out of Venezuela will be shipments approved by the US. Energy Secretary Chris Wright explained Wednesday that Venezuelan leaders are willing now to partner with the White House on this effort and that he says it's going to benefit both countries. Instead of the oil being blockaded as it is right now, we're going to let the oil flow, sell that market to United States refineries and to around the world to bring better oil supplies, but have those sales done by the US government and deposited into accounts controlled by the US government. Then from there, those funds can flow back into Venezuela to benefit the Venezuelan people. Now, following those comments, Venezuela's state-owned oil company released a statement of their own saying they were in talks with the US for oil sales that would benefit both sides. The White House says that arrangement is going to give them more leverage to push Venezuela to take actions that benefit us, especially cutting off support for drug cartels there.

So Greenland, where do things stand with President Trump's attempts to acquire it?

Yeah, Trump has made it no secret that he wants to acquire Greenland. And in recent weeks, he's actually refused to rule out the use of the military in doing so. That set off alarm bells in Europe, also in DC for a lot of folks, as Greenland is NATO territory, and an invasion of the island would technically require that all of our allies in Europe and NATO declare war on the US. However, administration officials have reportedly been assuring lawmakers lawmakers behind closed doors that Trump is serious about acquiring the island, but he wants to do so by legally purchasing it from Denmark. And the military language he's using is more about negotiating a better price.

Well, that's a hard ball tactic. Yeah.

Fulfilling another Maha promise, RFK has flipped the food pyramid and announced sweeping changes to the dietary guidelines for Americans.

Here with the details is Daily Wire reporter, Amanda Prestaj-Akamo. So Amanda, some really monumental environmental health changes were released yesterday. Tell us about those changes. What do these new guidelines advise?

Yeah, to put it simply, Americans are being told to eat real wholefoods. Who would have thought? So as John mentioned, the food pyramid has been completely flipped. So now we should be prioritizing healthy fats and protein and limiting or outright avoiding ultra-processed foods. During a press conference on Wednesday, Kennedy and his partner in this, Agriculture Secretary, Brook Rollins, they said that war on healthy fats is over. We should aim to include nutrient-dense protein at every meal, and that includes eggs, poultry, seafood, and yes, red meat. At the bottom of the pyramid, which is now the smallest part of the pyramid, are fiber-rich whole grains, but the DGA did emphasize that refined carbohydrates should be avoided. The guidance also says to avoid highly processed, packaged, prepared or ready to eat foods, as well as sugar, sweetened drinks like soda, sports drinks, or energy drinks. We talked to Dr. Marty McCarry, who's the Commissioner for the FDA, about flipping the food pyramid and this new emphasis on protein. Here's what he told us. We're talking about doubling protein content for some individuals. Your body needs protein, and in order to get that protein when you don't have it, it breaks down muscle.

That is catastrophic to older individuals where muscle loss is a driver of frailty.

For young kids, the old protein guidance that was low really just prevented against withering away.

Now, our food guidelines and the food pyramid have been pretty widely criticized for a long time now. Why is it just being changed now? Why did this take so long.

Yeah, well, I mean, Kennedy argued, and a lot of critics argue similarly, that the process of establishing these DGA guidelines, they were effectively captured by special interests. For example, some scientists who create the guidelines have received funding from food, beverage, or agricultural companies, or even conduct a research sponsored by industry groups. Now, those conflicts are disclosed, but they still raise a lot of red flags for Americans. Here's Kennedy.

The hard truth is that our government has been lying to us to protect corporate profit-taking, telling us that these food-like substances were beneficial to public health. Federal policy promoted and subsidized highly to highly processed foods and refined carbohydrates and turned a blind eye to the disastrous consequences. Today, the lies stop.

Now, RFK Jr has faced a lot of pushback, not just from medical institutions, but from the wider community, more specifically the left, for basically every change that he's tried to implement so far. Are we seeing that same angry reaction to this?

Well, most health professionals and medical professionals, they recognize that limiting ultra-processed foods and prioritizing wholefoods, that's going to be beneficial to your health. There's really no way around that. The American Medical Association, for example, they already put out a statement, and they applauded the administration for spotlighting highly processed foods, sugar-sweetened beverages, and excess sodium that they say fuel heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and other chronic illnesses. Here's a direct quote from the AMA. The guidelines affirm that food medicine and offer clear direction patients and physicians can use to improve health. Now, where there is still some disconnect or pushback is over this consumption of red meat. The New York Times, for example, just recently highlighted some experts talking about how too much red meat can cause serious health problems and should generally be substituted with more plant-based sources of protein.
