Transcript of Luigi Mangione indicted on first-degree murder charge

Luigi Mangione now indicted on 3 counts of murder right here in New York City. Investigators say it's 3 counts because it was planned out and brazen. 1 count of murder in the second degree is an act of terrorism for the brazen, targeted, and premeditated shooting of Brian Thompson. Investigators say Mangione specifically targeted UnitedHealthcare, but neither he or his mom even were insured by the company. So they're trying to figure out what was going on in his head.

Police say 1 day before Luigi Mangione was arrested, they questioned his mom. They gave her a call and said, do you recognize the man in those wanted posters? She told police she wasn't sure if it was Luigi, but said it sounded like something he would do. So I've been talking to police out in Pennsylvania who tell me Mangione has been quiet and cooperative spending all the time in his prison cell, even eating his meals in there. At this time, no family members have visited him in person.
