You know, in a long time. And at the very bottom, every, like, 7 minutes or so, I there's a little lower third, like, ad for NFL daily, which that's that part's not shocking. Like, we see it go around the ticker on NFL network. But but my image is part of the ad. I, like, pop up.

Greg saw himself, and he's like, oh my god. I know him. That's amazing.

No. It was very obnoxious because it just reminds me of that day where I was extremely uncomfortable taking those pictures. It also reminds me of the Will Ferrell skit on SNL where he, like, pops up and starts interacting with the hosts on TV.

Fast for broadcasting us because it makes me feel closer to my dear friend, Lisa, who watches us while she is at the gym every Wednesday morning, very early in the morning, and she always texts me. So it's very sweet.

The group is always so good. Checkups on the wolf family dynamics on Yeah. And around the NFL. Well How are they doing?

I I will say that I'm very upset that I will not be home for Thanksgiving because it is 1 of the craziest days on the calendar for the wolves. It's a little bit like a powder keg situation when we all get together. But I'll be home for Christmas this year. So, I mean, it's not really Christmas at my family's house until someone cancels it, with a huge, huge blow up. And so I usually wait for that to happen, and then I ring in the holidays.

So it's like we're we're right there. We're on the precipice of that happening.

Okay. I I love that for the wolves. They're, like, 1 of the most fascinating I feel like I the more I know about the wolves, the less I understand. My family's coming in. They're arriving at the airport in just a few hours.

Yeah. I don't like didn't even know Tim's name. That's that's how little Poppy did them. Let's start. We're gonna go through all 4 games.

I'm excited for them. I I know, you know, some look better than others, but it's Thanksgiving. They always a lot of times, they deliver even when you don't expect it. And as part of the preview, we are gonna give 1 spicy side take, per game. And because the Miami Packers game I've decided is the game of of the week, you know, before Sunday, we'll each give a spicy side take for that game.

So we're gonna start talking about the Bears and the Lions. That's on at 9:30 EST or 9:30 Pacific, the best time zone, the best coast. Yeah. The best way to watch football. It starts early.

It ends a little early. I'm excited because Caleb Williams has been playing so much better than I would have been for this game a couple weeks ago. I know the Bears are out of it, but I don't really care about that. I care about entertainment value. And Caleb Williams playing outstanding football against the best team in the league

at this play.

Is is gonna be entertaining, Pauleen. And, yes Yes. We are watching the the play where he rolls out to the side and just throws that dime to Deandre Swift. That was all.

I know he says. The Caleb Williams, Thomas Brown collab is much

cuter. Energy. Right?

It's much better than the Williams and Waldron release that was dropped on us in September. Caleb is not holding on to the ball as long as he was before, so he's got a little bit of a quicker release now. He had his 2nd consecutive game of positive EPA. He has a higher completion percentage, up 71% now from 61%. And he looked really good against the Vikings blitz, which is something that a lot of people were worrying about and wondering about because of rookie quarterback going up against the Brian Flores defense.

I mean, that's just kind of, like, the thing. But he was 9 of 12, 128, 2 touchdowns against it. It was his 1st multi touchdown game against the blitz this entire season. I'm excited to watch the Bears too. Of course, they're coming off the heartbreaker.

They're in a completely different scenario and situation this season than the lions are in. 1 team is completely dominating and has basically I mean, every single facet of their game is firing right now even after losing their star defender in Aidan Hutchinson. And then the Bears, they've lost 5 straight since their bye week.

4 and 7. Yeah. They they're done.

Hardly fashion a couple times.

I know. I know. And and last week was honestly 1 of them, but I think that, here's my take because it is the 20th Thanksgiving matchup between

I am. The Lions, they've only scored 25 plus points in those previous 19 matchups before. We know that the lions can score a ton of points. They've already scored 50 plus twice this year. I say they drop another 50 point game even with this Bears defense that's really, really good.

I mean, this is, they've allowed, well, they did allow a season high 30 points to the Vikings last week. The Bears did. But the Bears, they have the 8th best scoring defense. I don't think they show up this week. I think the Lions dominate.

Here's the thing

you told us before the show it wasn't that spicy. 50 burger on Thanksgiving, that that's spicy.

That might be enough. A burger on Thanksgiving sluice. Anyway, so Oh, no. Sorry. I'm so sorry.

So I think you have a point there in terms of a very, very high scoring game. I don't know about 50 because at some point, someone's gonna come to the middle of the field with Dan Campbell and be like, why are you running up this kind of a thing?

But I kind of thought about that when I saw Doug Peterson and Dan Campbell hugging at the end of that jackpot. Michael Jordan meme. I don't know who yes.

It's like the Michael Jordan. Adam. Matt Eberfitz.

Yeah. No.

Not that guy.

So but, you know, when the the Bears sort of locked up Justin Jefferson last week, Sam Darnold got the ball to a bunch of different receivers Who has a bunch of different weapons in their offense? Detroit. So I think the the way that the Bears struggle to defend a variety of different players, that bodes well for the Lions. Everything bodes well for the Lions these days, but that especially bodes well for the Lions in this matchup. Going back to the Bears offense though, there is a lot to be, thankful for or a lot to be positive about heading into the future.

You know, I even heard whispers coming out of that Minnesota market about how impressed Brian Flores was with the job that they did against his defense. And that's a that's a young player in Caleb Williams and his receivers who are starting to connect. And I know I sound soft when I say this, but, like, there's something to be said for, like, enjoying your job this time of year and enjoying football and enjoying it is such a grind, and he already you could you could see how tight and constricted and stressed this offense was just a few weeks ago. And like I mentioned and and you've alluded to as well, it's like energy now. It feels good.

There's more answers for him. He's getting the ball out. They're having fun. They're playing free. They're losing, but they're winning at the same time.

Yeah. Well, you could see where the you could see where the future where the future is, and and I think that that's important. Now I don't think the Bears win this game

For the reasons that I that I mentioned. But I also wanted to ask as well, and I don't wanna replace people before they're out of the building. But are we possibly watching Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson against his future team potentially, or what are we what are we thinking about that?

I guess you could even say Aaron Glenn too, even though they're gonna wanna probably want an offensive guy, but still, I like that.

If you're Ben Johnson and you can pick your jobs, you would think you would pick it based on quarterbacks and having Caleb Williams on the 2nd year of his rookie contract. That would be awesome. I also think it's such a hard division. The other coaches in it are just so good if I not that you wouldn't take a job based on that. That's not how professional coaches are built, but I would be like, oh, man.

Dan Campbell. Oh, Matt LaFleur. Oh, Kevin O'Connor, like, hey. How about I head over to the NFC South or something and beat up on

He wants the easy road. That's what Greg Yeah.

Well, it's just gonna be it's gonna be hard. Road. And ownership there, will they step up? I have a feeling Ben Johnson will have as high a price tag as any first time head coach in a while. Right?

Yeah. Well, he has us as a coordinator as well. I mean, they they threw Like,

last week. Don't seem like that Exactly. They don't seem like that team necessarily, but that that is fascinating. I

think that's why his value goes up because he was like, no. I'm gonna stay here. And it's like, oh, now he's even, like, more wanted, more coveted.

1 other thing about the Lions' offense against the Bears' defense

that I think

Mhmm. Unless we see a major adjustment from the Bears, they're playing a super high frequency, 5th highest in the league of single high coverage, while Jared Goff is first in the NFL in completion percentage and yards against single high safety coverage, which he continues to face because the lions run the ball well and more defenders are devoted, towards stopping that element of their game, but they just pick them apart through the air. So it's like, pick your poison on this, and, the Bears give up nearly 8 yards per attempt in single high coverage, and they have to play it at a high frequency. It's 10th moat.

I mean, they're

Okay. Look at you guys. It's 1 of the weirdly under discussed aspects to the Bears this season. Matt Eberflus' defense is bad. Like, it's a it's like a

started well and then just fizzled. You know?

It's a legitimately bad defense. 19th overall. I guess that's more mediocre than bad, in 3rd. In DVOA, but it it's trending down. 30th in terms of their rush defense.

Oh, well Against David Montgomery and Deandre Swift I mean, Jamere Gibbs. James. Man, that that's throwing me back to the worst tweet I ever made that Lions fans do not let me forget. We'll take a little

What what

was it? I think it was because I reminded them of it a few times, and now I'm doing it again. It was a tweet that said the difference between David Montgomery and Jamere Gibbs is not that, you know, big a difference to Deandre Swift and Jamal Williams. Basically, like, they spent a lot of money to barely upgrade from their previous 1. And I, you know, I halfway through the next season, I quickly was like, well, that was a big big fat l, but it, like, it pops up on my timeline after every other, like, Jamere Gibbs 70 yard rung.

Also watching, on Ross Saint Brown, his status for this game.

Yeah.

Dan Campbell said that he's a little banged up, so, I think that he'll probably go, but short week, you never know.

Lot of injury situations there. Taylor Decker. I'm surprised that Dan Campbell is saying their left tackle is less likely to play than than he is to play because he did finish that game. Usually, that's a good indicator. It is an extremely short week, but they might be without their left tackle.

And the left side of that line, like, in pass pro, actually not not amazing this year quietly. Kalief Raymond, who's a nice player for them, is expected to miss this game. And then Carlton Davis, who's a starting quarterback, and it's a pretty big drop off. I think it was kin Kendall Vildor was in for them last week. They like to play a lot of man coverage.

Man coverage against Roma Doonese Mhmm. DJ Moore and Keenan Allen. That is where I think the bears would see some potential mismatches, assuming Carlton Davis isn't out there. And the way Caleb Williams is playing, I love I love the number. I love the over in this game.

I like it's gonna be a shootout?

But give me, like, give me just a real sloppy 52 to 32. Oh. You know what I mean? Like, the Bears aren't even really competitive, but all the fantasy owners of Adunze and Keenan Allen are very happy.

They've won the close division games, like, against Minnesota where they give up leads. They've beaten the bad teams usually by a lot. They have lost 7 straight games on Thanksgiving. Dan Campbell was asked about that on Tuesday.

I think there's 2 things. Number 1, get a w. Right? And and it's division win. That's that's why this is huge.

Number 2 is because, you know, the players are gonna get a couple days off. So they got family, friends, and it'd be nice to, you know, to feel good about it when you when you're with everybody, because it's just not real fun. It's not real fun to be around. You know, ask my wife. She'll tell you.

Like, that's what she's praying for a win. I mean, big time because she knows that, you know, I'm a bear, and we don't win. So we all want it. You know, it is long overdue, but but, you know, we gotta win the win.

I love Dan Campbell.

I have a fun fact about that shirt that he's wearing.

It says antifragile on it with the Lions logo.

So that comes from when Brad Holmes and Les Snead were rebuilding the Rams together into the Super Bowl winning team. But antifragile is inspired from this book that they all read, and it's called antifragile things that gain from disorder. And it seems like he's wearing it this week because every week, the Lions have lost an important player to injury, and they keep freaking winning and just putting a beat down on people. I mean, every week, it has been an impact player that has gone down to injury, and they just keep rolling because they are an absolute freaking wagon. Antifragile.

I love that fun fact.

I love that we are already getting reminders from our producer. They're just like, alright. Let's move it along. You've gone almost 20 minutes. We're not we're not hitting the under.

Oh, no. I mean, this is so disorganized. I don't even know.

I I I do wanna say before this game, though, I think Caleb Williams' play the last 2 weeks should be making Bears fans absolutely thrilled. I'm I'm almost shocked that he hasn't been getting more pop. Like, the last 2 games out of Caleb Williams, to me, were as exciting or more exciting than any games by any of the rookie quarterbacks this year. Put Jaden Daniels and Drake Mayton. Because the team is such a downer, it it's not getting as much attention.

But some of the things he's doing, he's getting better getting to a second read faster. I wouldn't say it's fast, but it's definitely way faster where you see him reading the the whole field. Already 1 of the best in the league at 2 minute situations. They they showed the stat on the Fox broadcast last week that they're in the top 5 in terms of points at the end of I think it was the first half. And then you saw the way they managed the situation at the end of that game, getting 11 points in the last 2 minutes.

Like, he is so good there, and then the confidence, the the the celebrations he's having after some of these throws early in games, it just kinda lets you know that he's feeling it, and I think he'll know that the everyone in the country is watching him in this game. And he was throwing with such confidence with zip last week into windows that were very difficult. I'm like, oh, he is he is arriving arriving, and that's why I've got it at 52 to 30.

I love that. And Keenan Allen too. I mean Yes. This was his 3rd, I think, 3rd game with double digit targets. So Caleb just kept going to him.

I think he had 15 targets in this game. So he had, looking now. Yeah. Season high 9 catches, 86 yards on 15 targets. So I love that

Getting him more involved too.

Play play Keenan Allen in fantasy. I don't think you can't run on the lines, so I do think there's gonna be a lot of passing yards in this game. Alright. Let's go to our next game. Yes.

Giants and Cowboys. This is traditionally the most watched

Oh, man.

NFL game of the season, the Cowboys Thanksgiving game. We'll see if that that will be the case this year where it it's not as appetizing. But what are you gonna do? Not watch it? Like

It'll be on. Remember what happened with Tommy DeVito playing the cowboys last year? No. I don't, actually. Giants lost 49 to 17.

Brian Daybell said that DeVito was struggling with a sore arm, and I I can think of the play that that injury happened, against the Bucks, and he left for a couple plays and then came back in after he took a really bad sack, which Tommy DeVito is known to do. That dude gets rocked. Literally, the 1st third down of his season this year, he got absolutely destroyed by I think it was Kaleijah Canti. And I was just like He's

a blue collar guy.

Is he got well right. But is he is he that that's it right there if you're watching you. Like, I was like, are you is that it? Did you just last 3 plays? And so we might see Drew lock against the cowboys.

And that is a mismatch because the Giants' offensive line was terrible in that Bucks game, and then they lost 1 of their best offensive linemen in Jermaine Alumenor. So they have 2 missing tackles. And this Cowboys pass rush has looked way better since Michael Parsons has returned. Funny how

that.

Right. Funny how that works. Like a generational talent, but they've looked pretty good, honestly, for 3 straight games on defense. So that is a mismatch I would worry about if I was Tommy DeVito.

I have a short statement about this game. Okay. Okay. If you all will indulge me. Yes, please.

It was just, like, much easier. But this year, I was, like, telling Alice, like, oh, we're not going there this year.

We're gonna have it at home with with, Gaga and grandpa. Gaga's named my mom to them. Aw. And her immediate reaction was, like, oh, that's great. I missed having all the leftovers last year.

Like, I was, like, okay.

She knows. She knows.

She absolutely knows. That see, we don't even wanna talk about this game. That's it. Actually, I'm gonna I'll give a spicy take, but I'm gonna listen to Jerry Jones talking about Mike McCarthy before they do that because it's related. Just just speaking about, McCarthy's future with the team.

Is it crazy to think that at the end of this season, we could be talking about an extension for Mike McCarthy?

I don't think, that's crazy at all. That's not crazy. This Super Bowl winning coach that Mac McCarthy is, been there, done that. He's got, great ideas. So bottom line is that, we got a lot of football left.

And it makes sense. Like, you have a coach that's coaching your team, and they're trying to win games. Yeah. And so and he doesn't have a contract for next year, so you have to say that's a possibility.

Make it seem like you're winning games. Yes.

Or that it's possible. Or hey. Look. If they won 6 straight games, it's not gonna happen. But if they won 6 straight games, he would get that contract.

Right? Like like, if if miracles happen, and I think they can win 2 straight games Yeah. I actually like them covering this 4 points the more or not more I thought about it. At first, I saw 4 points, and we're sending in our picks for game debut early in the week, and I'm thinking, oh, wow. I would net you know, the Cowboys favored by 4.

That's silly. But the more I thought about it, I was like, okay. I think they can do it.

I like the Cowboys actually in this game as well, and they're in a weird spot where they have a, like you said, they have a couple of winnable games left on their schedule, a few very winnable games, and they're in this weird area where they might mess around and get, like, a outside the top 10 draft pick again, and, you know, it's just a very they're in, again, an interesting situation. Also

It's where they got Micah, though. Yeah. They do they do some good work in the draft.

They do. They they draft well. They they historically have. It's just everything else that happens after that. So the the radio station that he is on, again, you know, the the continued appearances, it makes me think, like, I really want you guys remember several years ago, you know, Grantland was really good at this, the early days of the athletic, the oral histories.

Oh, no. I would love 1 from this year with the radio station. Like, Jerry Jones v Radio Station, and those guys at that station are fantastic. So, I mean, I'm accepting pitches if anyone, you know, wants it. But, yeah, I I would love to

I would love to the change you want to see in the world. Right?

It just would be so interesting to me to get everyone's perspective on how tumultuous that relationship is. Oh my gosh.

So my my spicy take is that this cowboy's job first of all, it's a much better job when it becomes available than the Giants' job.

And that it'll probably be the best job available this off season. I I know there's, like, all the things that go against it, and you you don't, like, not

have all

the power. Look at the the infrastructure in terms of you have a quarterback in Dak Prescott. You have an organization that actually does have a habit of winning a lot of games. They just won 12 games 3 times in a row. They they very rarely in the last 15, 20 years bottom out, and it certainly doesn't last more than 1 year.

And their scouting department with Will McClay and everything, they draft pretty well. All of these jobs have problems to it. Most of them that we think are gonna empty out have been struggling organizations for a decade plus, and I wouldn't put Dallas really in that category. If I'm a if I'm Ben Johnson even, I would be intrigued to work with the talent that they have, CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott, and you you got some talent. On defense, Ron Bland, by the way, returned last week, and that really made their defense look better.

Like, I actually think as available jobs go, this this is gonna be the best 1. Alright? Very good.

Well, we don't even know totally what's out there. But

We we are definitely not doing this. I have a I have a stat for you I just couldn't believe. The Giants haven't had a lead since October 6th. What?

And I that. It's driving their players crazy too. Malik Nevers, I think, is gonna freak out Yeah. Even more so by the end of the season.

Well, I hadn't even gone to London at that point. Like, I was a totally different person. Think of what was happening in our Yeah. Lives. I Yeah.

I was just mature so much. Right. Maturing as a human. I look look back, like, the Philly I I look back, not to give bad memories here, but the Phillies had just won.

Feel like you're coming after me today. Between the Wolves and now what? What is this sipping?

The Phillies won game 2 of the division series against the Mets on that same day. Because I was like, what happened in sports that day? That was a long ass time ago. That was the last time they even just Wow. Had a lead.

Let's let's listen to Dexter Lawrence after the game because this is their best player, and I I think it speaks to where they're at as a franchise.

Dexter, after a game like this, are you angry? Extremely. We play soft, and they they beat of us today. We missed a lot of tackles.

We didn't contain Baker well on the scrambles. We didn't cover well.

It's soft to me. How would you describe your level of frustration right now? Probably a 10.

Right. Alright.

This is gonna be, a big week. Big week for the Dolphins. They've been slowly getting back in the mix, 3 straight wins. The rest of their schedule after this game, quite favorable. Toughest game they have left after this is the sinking like a stone, Texans, which I would say the Dolphins, would be favored against.

Mhmm. And so this might be the biggest game of their season, not just because of that, but also because it brings up a lot of the old stuff. Let's listen to Tuatunga Bailoa talking about the narratives that have surrounded the Dolphins the last couple of years.

You mentioned the significance of the coming game. What do you think about maybe playing in some cold and creeping?

Yeah. I mean, I'm excited to kill narratives. So let's go. Bring it on.

Hell, yeah.

I love that out of him, and and the narratives would be that the the offense slows down at the end of the season, and we're we're at Thanksgiving. It's officially the end of the season. Mhmm. And that they struggle in cold weather, o and 4, under 40 degrees.

It'll be 29 degrees and cloudy at Lambeau Field, so really, like, not that bad.

What about snow? Is there any snow in the forecast? Cloudy.

Bad enough. 61% precipitation, chance I really went I really really went into it. Yeah. So it's it's gonna be cold. It's gonna be great football weather.

I I think this is actually the 2nd best game of the entire slate this week behind Philly Baltimore, over the weekend. Like, I think this game is gonna be so fun. There's all these little subplots in in it as well. You know, Mike McDaniel and Matt LaFleur once worked together. They were, you know, they were, sort of missed each other at a couple of different stops, but they were also on on several of the same coaching staffs.

They've shared assistant coaches. 1 thing that is super interesting to me, is that if I can find where I wrote it down This

is where the color comes from.

I know. I I didn't highlight anything today. Joe Berry is the former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator who was kind of much maligned by the fan base, and his defense was, just played in that deep shell a little bit too often for their liking was Boring. Kinda got the the reputation of being soft. And now he's the defensive run game coordinator and the linebackers coach in Miami, while Josh Jacobs who's on a real hot streak is, gonna be running the ball against that Dolphins front.

Like, this is there's some really interesting coaching matchups in this as well, and I and and also, this is a Dolphins team that, despite the cold, they're really getting hot at the right time.

And and it kind of is still they they can be so phenomenal, but still erratic under pressure, offense, and and I just I I love this I think this is gonna be a really fun game.

That's the matchup to watch, and, honestly, that is where my spicy take is as well. Oh, we

hear about it. We all have spicy takes. This game is so good. We decided to do that.

Exactly. I think Josh Jacobs will be the 2nd player all time to run for 200 yards on Thanksgiving.

Oh, I like that. Uh-huh. Colleen went big because if you get we 1 of these yeah. No. If you get even 1 of these 2 right, everyone's gonna remember it.

People hit her up on blue sky. You know, people are gonna be going absolutely nuts.

Yeah. This is the running back's chapter. So Josh Jacobs is gonna do it for all of the other running backs that will come before him just days after Derrick Henry and Saquon Barkley. Running backs on new teams, they rushed for 255, 140. I mean, this is the year of the running back.

I like it. I also have a spicy Josh Jacobs take. I think he's gonna go for 2 touchdowns. I didn't do a yardage. I think he's gonna get 2 touchdowns in this game, but I'm actually I'm picking the Dolphins.

I love I love the energy that's coming out of Dolphins build the Dolphins building right now. Yes. That cold is, a little bit of a difference, Baker, but again, that's not the, like, what, negative 11 degrees or whatever it was that we've seen them struggle in before.

Kansas City. Also they played great in that Buffalo game storm on Austin.

So. I was there for

They played really well. They just lost to a a team that was a little better.

And I can't emphasize enough how much of a difference. I've I know I've honked about this a lot on this show about how specifically this offense is predicated to the timing and the way that Tuatunga Viola can run the different pre snap and at snap movements and the footwork and his drops and coordinating them with the route pairing. All of these types of things that are so so aligned with what he specifically does best. And this is courtesy of Aaron Schatz, our friend, on blue sky. Miami Dolphins pass offense, DVOA, in weeks 1 through 7 was 30th.

In weeks 8 through 12 is has been 9th. And it would be higher weeks 8 through 12 if not for opponent adjustments as well through that DVOA

Right.

Process. And so this this is a completely night and day team again when when Tua is back in the lineup, and they're they're feeling it a little bit, guys.

They they've been awesome. I've watched every snap. I mean, I I try to do that with every team, but Miami, especially, I've been trying to watch live and going back. And it's really interesting because I think Tua is playing the best football of his life, and yet he's actually playing now like everyone used to accuse him of playing. Right.

But he never was. And by that, I mean, it really is a dink and dunk offense

Yeah.

Right now. They're playing 2 tight ends. The 3rd receiver is Odell Beckham, who hasn't really gotten it going, had a bad drop last week, only had 17 snaps. And they play John U. Smith and Julian Hill, and John U.

Smith is really their 3rd receiver, and the numbers don't lie. His at air yards per completion is less than half of what it was just 2 years ago. They are much more of a yak team. They're much more of a Chiefs like 3rd down team where you're really just trusting the quarterback to make all these decisions. And they're also a ball handling team.

I do worry about that in the cold a little bit because Tua is magical in terms of his play fakes, and now he's doing the no look stuff, like, each and every they they're just flexing on people, and I really think it makes a big difference. Am I crazy that Donovan McNabb was awesome at that? I'm trying to think, like, who are the best, like, ball fake players ever? Peyton Manning is certainly up there, but Tua is right there at the very top. Like, they're taking it to the next level of, like, you just don't know where the freaking ball is, and he's so confident in what he's doing.

That makes a big difference. And it's really made up for the fact that they don't run the ball that much Right. Anymore or that well. So that does concern you in in situations where you wanna, you know, salt away a big lead. You wanna be diverse.

I don't think that this is gonna be that kinda game. I think both offenses have real mismatches, and there's gonna be a lot of points in

the game. This Dolphins offense right now is probably the best version of itself to if they are going to win this game against the Packers, they have their best shot with this offense as it is right now.

No Jireh Alexander most likely. I'm just guessing Yeah. Based

PCL, that's gonna be a little bit gnarly coming back from, over the next couple

of weeks. That's a big loss, and their pass rush hasn't been that great on paper. They're really reliant on getting turnovers, and they might get turnovers, but that's just very hard to predict. So when I think about Tua, if you don't get some heat on him and Toron Armstead, their left tackle is having a really great season quietly. He's been healthy and might be an an all pro.

Man, if you don't if you don't get pressure on him, I I love the offenses on both these teams because I agreed with everything you guys were saying, about Jacobs. I think he has a monster date.

Yeah. And you do have to run the ball a lot if you're Green Bay, I think, because if they can get Chop Robinson going the way he has been over the last couple of weeks, if you're Miami, Calais Campbell has been playing out of his mind. Your guy, Seeler, has been playing good good partner for those guys. If you can get pressure on Jordan Love, he does tend to be erratic. He's the 3rd lowest completion percentage when under pressure in the NFL right now according to Next Gen Stats, and so you're gonna have to run the ball.

You're gonna wanna run the ball. It's Joe Berry on the other side. You are going to run the wanna run the football, and Josh Jacobs is getting hot at the right time.

I think too, another player to watch in this matchup on the other offense, tight end, Jonnu Smith, who Mhmm. I think he has a great opportunity to go off against the Packers, 3 touchdowns in his last 2 games. And Green Bay's defense is allowing the 13th most yards to opposing tight ends. So even when it's evident that the Dolphins are running things through Johnu Smith, it still works because the defenses are accounting for Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

The the stats are crazy. I went through them earlier in the week just in terms of receiving yards, so we don't need to go advanced stats. Let's just go basic ass stats.

Tyreek Hill has 571 yards this year. Really disappointing his fantasy owners. Jalen Waddle now after that big game is 548. Johnny Smith is 535. So it's like the 3 the 3 big guys.

And Tyreek Hill actually had a tweet this week, which was hilarious, where, you know, it's the meme of a guy whistling at the new girl, and the guy is whistling at Johnny Smith and Devon h and and Tyreek Waddle. Tyreek and Waddle are like, what the hell, man? Although he did go to Waddle last week and Tyreek, I he's he is 1 of the better Twitter follows out there, and, yeah, he agreed my exact thoughts there.

He also loves Tua. So before anyone reads into that, like, oh, he wants of course, he wants the ball. He's gonna get the ball. But, like, he also he he absolutely adored.

Oh, he had a million other tweets too about people so worried about stats. Like, we're winning, bro, and we need to keep getting these wins. I yeah. He wouldn't do that unless he's just having a little bit of fun. Let's let's listen to 1 more, cold take by Mike McDaniel.

I was just gonna carry ice cubes in my pockets and throw them at players all week. You know, I there it's I mean, it's nothing revolutionary. How do I feel about narratives?

I'm very comfortable with narratives because I think they're very predictable and retroactive.

And now as we got closer and I looked in the the Dolphins, there is something in my soul that doesn't quite believe in this Dolphins defense on the ground, and I feel bad. We had Anthony Weaver, their coordinator on the show last week. Great. And now I like him, so I'm rooting for him. And what but just when I think about what's the best thing about either of these teams, as great as Tua has been, as great as Tyreek Hill has been, I think the best, most unique thing in this game is the packers running game and all the crazy stuff.

They do it. Right.

That they scheme it is freaking beatiful. Throw at you.

And I look and the Dolphins are 30th against the run on in terms of DVOA. I just think that's, like, a lot to make up for. I think I think we're gonna have a lot of points. It'll be a lot of fun. And my spicy side take is actually pro dolphin.

So if they get this, then they have a nice shot.

They actually ran the ball fairly well against a decent Sincere McCormick? Sincere McCormick had some nice runs last week, and Chiefs' defense hasn't looked great the last couple weeks. That's surprising.

Yeah. Let's talk about it. I know you covered it on the on the recap show, but, like, this the Chiefs are kinda freaking me out a little bit. I mean, they've been a little bit, you know, they've just felt almost like creaky all year, especially on on offense so far. But, you know, good for the Panthers, first of all, to show so much improvement and progress that they actually got themselves in a position to lose a heartbreaking game to Pat Mahomes in the final seconds.

I mean, to me, that's quite a feather in your cap if you were where the Panthers previously were, But it also kind of showed more concern to me about the Chiefs and and where they're at, and I'm almost like, you know, I I always compare them to, like, the the team that just understands how to get their bodies ready and, like, just push into the postseason, just sort of this, like, behemoth, like, 1 of those giant freight ships that you see slowly coming in to the harbor, and it just there's no stopping it. Right? It just goes. But at the same time, like, I don't know. It's just it's almost like Eagles except without the salty bad vibes.

From last year, you mean?

No. I'm saying that that that's the worst case scenario is where all of a sudden they hit a wall and just sort of start crumbling because they're tired.

They do kinda remind me of the Eagles from last year because I remember with the Eagles last year being like, oh, well, these wins, they're they're tough wins. They're not pretty, but a win's a win. They're finding ways to win. Yeah. But it's the Chiefs' secondary that I've been a little more concerned about than anything else because the depth behind their top quarterback, Trent McDuffie, it's just not there Yeah.

At all. Once they traded quarterback Le'Jarius Snead to the titans and lost out on the Marshawn Lattimore situation, You have Jaylen Watson that went on IR. And behind them, it's Shamari Connor and then just a a bunch of guys who have no experience.

Right. I don't know where to put their shortcomings. I've I've tried to think of comps, because I think the Eagles 1 ultimately doesn't pass the smell test

because of unicorn situation for them specifically, but that that's the that's the bar now that you place the worst fear against.

I and I was thinking about the 2019 patriots who were a defending champ, but kinda at the end of their run, and they started out 8 and o that year. I think comparing them to the patriots is it makes more sense because the difference is Nick, like, Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid will never be Sirianni and Hertz. No offense to them. Like, they are 2 of the greatest of all time. So I think their floor is so much higher, but I don't think they're a great team.

I've settled more in on some of those Patriots teams that had some pretty clear shortcomings, but also had the greatest you know, 1 of the greatest quarterbacks of all time and 1 of the greatest coaches of all time, and that especially the 2013 and 2015 ones that lost to the Broncos in the conference championship. That's where I think this Chiefs team is going. I'm gonna give you you're making a face as that 1

of the best.

Their floor is still 14 and 3 and probably having an extremely winnable home game in the divisional round. And so yeah. But are they got they need to improve on some of the things

I alright. I'm gonna list, a bunch of issues because I don't think we're panicking.

With my family? No.

With the chief. Grievances.

With the chiefs. So I think all the concern about the Chiefs and people are like, how this is the worst 10 to 1 team ever and blah blah blah blah, and they're so lucky. It's it's somewhere in between. Let's say their total efficiency, DVOA, puts them at 7th. That fit it feels exactly right.

Yeah.

Like, that they actually are a really good team. They're they're really efficient on offense. We we know how they can coach things up. But here are their issues, and I think they've been increasing, which makes them bigger. And you could let's let's rank them maybe.

These are the big ones. Number 1, their offensive tackles.

Yes.

Okay. Oh my goodness. Number 2, their overall team speed on offense. Okay. Number 3, their lack of a pass rush.

And I wanted to put that out there because I don't think that's getting a lot of pop, but they don't have a very good pass rush. It's Chris Jones and very little else, and they're having to play him on the outside. I think that could be a problem against really good quarterback. And then number 4 is their quarterback 2, 3 position. Yep.

And quietly, Jaylen Watson, who was not a big name, was performing about as well in all the advanced metrics as just about any quarterback out there. And since he's out and he's probably not coming back this season, it it appears it's been a big drop off, and and you alluded to that a little bit.

So those are the tibia and fibula, so I don't think he's gonna be back.

Yeah. That's rough. I I present those as the 4 issues, the tackles, the team speed, cornerback 2 slash 3 maybe, and then the pass rush. What what what is your biggest issue there?

The tackles. I think you have them ranked spot on there because because I agree, and and I and I have not seen the pass rush thing brought up a ton, but at the same time, we sort of just assume that in the Spagnolo system, any issues that come up will be fixed. Right? But that might not necessarily be the case deep into December and also into the postseason that they're expecting to play. The tackles are a problem, and they've been a problem for a lot of the year.

They've been rotated either due to performance or to injury issues. They have, they they just they show up every game against the Panthers. They were a huge issue. They were a real reason why the Panthers were able to gain some momentum, deeper into that game because they were not only having some issues with their standard rush, but also some of the blitz pickups that they needed to to account for. And, yeah, that's I would rank that number 1 for sure.

Team speed also is a factor. It does lead into my spicy side, but if you're but if you're still going or if we are still

going to see it.

So the Raiders, for all they're kinda getting laughed out of the building, out of the the conversation on on a lot of this conversation that we have about them is, like, they do have something really cool about their future and that is Brock Bowers.

Yes.

And we've talked about him on this show before. He is outstanding. He's an electric player. I know Pat Sertain was a big factor, last week in helping to account for him, limit him. He had, 38 yards, which I believe was his 2nd low 2nd lowest, amount of yards in the season.

But this rookie tight end, he's outstanding. He does everything, and I think he's gonna double Travis Kelce's production.

In this game.

I think the Raiders will lose. I think they will get trounced, but I think that I do think that Brock Bowers because, he he who else I mean, where where else are you gonna put the ball? But teams have known that all year, and Brock Bowers is getting open. And I think that he is going to sort of become, in this game, the quiet, like, symbol within the game within the game within the game, like, far from the most important elements of this game where the torch is being passed a little bit from Oh, I like that. 1 of the best tight ends we've ever seen who's now in the twilight of his career, and Brock Bowers is going to be 1 of the next great tight ends in this league.

And when you said passing of the torch, I like that, Bowers and Kelsey. I was thinking the passing of the torch might be to Noah Gray. Mhmm. Noah Gray. And, like, it doesn't surprise me that he's becoming the primary receiver because it goes back to the the 4 things I mentioned, team speed.

He is probably their most explosive, consistent offensive weapon, which is wild, but he gives him a little more juice. And Xavier Worthy, they they don't they don't really feel like they can count on him. So

He was wide open on that touchdown.

He was. There was a third down late in that game where Mahomes ate the ball, and they gave it back to the Panthers. And Worthy was the primary read. I thought he was kinda open on the play, and Mahomes just didn't throw it to him, and I was like, oh, that's that's a that's just a problem when you're not trusting they're trying to get some pass rush out of, like, Josh Uche. He hasn't done anything for them so far.

They had a 1st round pick last year. Felix, Dikezamo just hasn't really done anything either. So just just little issues with this Chiefs team. Not that it should get in the way. We did it.
