Remember, I have your 6. Get ready to level up right now.
What's up, everyone? Welcome back to the Level Up Podcast. I'm Paul Alex, and today we are tackling the exact moment you need to hand over the revenue engine when to hire a salesperson. Because let's be real, if you hire a high-ticket closer before you have actually proven the offer and built the system yourself, you are just throwing money into a furnace. Let's break down the rules of sales delegation.
First, realize that a salesperson is designed to scale a working process, not fix a broken one. Too many founders are completely terrified of the phone, so they launch a product, get zero traction, and immediately try to hire a commission sales rep to figure it out for them. That is a massive failure of leadership. If you, the visionary and creator of the product, cannot convince the market to buy it, a hired gun is not going to magically crack the code. Whether you sell high-level SaaS or physical deployments, you must map the conversion first.
If you delegate too early, you kill your capital and your reputation. Second, you have to hit the mathematical benchmark of capacity. People do not hire a sales team to replace their hustle. They hire them because the calendar is completely maxed out. So instead of hiring when you are scared, hire when you are physically drowning in qualified leads.
Build the exact compensation structure, write the ironclad script based on your own winning calls, and document the onboarding process. Make the new hire's success an absolute mathematical certainty. Lastly, passing the baton correctly unlocks exponential leverage. When you plug a hungry elite closer into a perfectly designed, proven sales funnel, your company's revenue explodes without demanding another hour of your time. Strict performance metrics, heavy commission incentives, and a world-class training process create an unstoppable sales floor.
When you hire at the exact right moment, you ignite the empire. Bottom line, you have to pave the road before you ask someone else to drive the truck. Prove the offer, max out your schedule, and then hire the closer. Because when you do, you will multiply your revenue faster than ever. Thanks for tuning into the Level Up Podcast.
I'm Paul Alex reminding you, founders must lead from the front. Build the system, hand over the script, and as always, keep leveling up. Thanks for listening up to the Level Up Podcast. Hiring a salesperson will not fix an offer that has never been proven.
It will only scale the confusion.
In this episode of The Level Up Podcast, Paul Alex breaks down when founders should hire a salesperson, why delegating too early wastes capital, and how to build a sales process that another person can successfully repeat.
A salesperson is designed to scale what already works.
Before handing over the revenue engine, the founder must prove the offer, understand the objections, close customers personally, and document the exact process.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
• Why a salesperson cannot rescue an unproven offer• How founders can validate the sales process before delegating it• Why a full calendar of qualified leads signals that it may be time to hire• How scripts, compensation, training, and performance metrics create a scalable sales team
The truth is simple:
You have to pave the road before asking someone else to drive.
Prove the offer.
Document the winning calls.
Build the script.
Create the onboarding process.
Then hire a salesperson when demand exceeds your personal capacity.
When you pass the baton at the right moment, sales delegation becomes leverage instead of an expensive mistake.
