Because let's be real, if your business is running so smoothly that you haven't felt stressed, challenged, or uncomfortable in 6 months, you are not holding your success.
You are declining. Let's break down why you need to measure pain, not just profit. First, understand that all massive growth stays on the bleeding edge of your ability. Too many founders hit a million dollars, get comfortable, and stop breaking things. They avoid launching the new product or entering the new market because it feels hard.
That comfort is a disease. In nature, anything that isn't growing is dying. Business works the exact same way. If your standard operating procedures never fail, it means you aren't pushing enough volume through them. Whether you are in software or running physical operations, Comfort is the enemy of scale.
If you avoid the friction, you kill your own growth. Second, you have to hunt for the bottlenecks that hurt. People who scale to $100 million intentionally break their own companies. They double their ad spend overnight just to see where the fulfillment team snaps. So instead of celebrating a quiet week, get paranoid.
Run a friction audit. Find the exact process that is causing the most pain, isolate it, and upgrade it. Make intentional discomfort your primary strategy. Lastly, embracing friction builds an unshakable empire. When you are constantly stress testing your own limits, outside market crashes barely touch you.
Extreme resilience, a love for the struggle, and an obsession with stress testing Create a true market predator. When you seek out the pain, you completely kill the fear. Bottom line, if it feels easy, you are playing way too small. Break the system, rebuild the machine, and force the growth. Because when you do, you will expand further than ever.
