Let's break down how to charge an access tax. First, realize that your calendar is the blueprint of your net worth. Too many new entrepreneurs operate with a massive people-pleasing complex. They think that saying yes to every meeting and every favor makes them a good person. In reality, it makes them a distracted, exhausted operator. When you give 2 hours of your prime energy to a cynical coworker complaining about their job, that is 2 hours you stole from your future legacy.
Whether you are running an agency or grinding out a side hustle, your time must have a violently enforced perimeter. If you are available to everyone, you kill your ability to focus. Second, you have to put a massive premium price tag on your hour. People do not respect what they get for free. If someone wants your high-level strategy, they need to pay the toll. So, instead of handing out free consulting, build a standard operating procedure for saying no. Learn to say, my schedule is completely locked down right now, but here is a link to my paid consulting calendar. Make your unavailability a symbol of your market value. Lastly, when you restrict your access, your actual output explodes. The hours you save from dodging pointless conversations get injected straight into building cash-flowing systems and elite delivery. Radical boundaries, absolute calendar control, and a high valuation of your own worth create a legendary CEO. When you lock the gates, you finally have the space to build the castle. Bottom line? You cannot build a million-dollar vision on a minimum-wage schedule. Protect your hours, charge for your expertise, and build the machine. Because when you do, you will scale sharper than ever.
