00:00:22

What's up, everyone? Welcome back to the Level Up Podcast. I'm Paul Alex, and today we are tackling the most painful transition a CEO will ever make. Moving from a team of doers to a team of thinkers. Because let's be real, if you are still the only person allowed to make a strategic decision, your business is a ticking time bomb.

00:00:39

Let's break down how to build an executive team that actually executes. First, realize that you cannot scale a massive company using only administrative assistants. Too many founders are terrified of hiring high-level executives because they don't want to pay the salaries. That is a poverty mindset. If you want a $100 million company, you need people who have already operated at that level.

00:01:02

Whether you need a chief operating officer or a VP of sales, cheap talent only creates expensive problems. If you refuse to hire giants, you kill your own ceiling. Second, stop handing out tasks and start handing out territory. People do not step into true leadership if you are constantly micromanaging their daily checklist. They step up when you give them a massive objective and get completely out of their way.

00:01:27

So instead of telling an executive how to run their department, give them the exact metrics they need to hit and let them build the playbook. Make autonomy the ultimate standard. Lastly, a true executive team multiplies your visionary power. When you can hand a massive problem to your leaders and know it will be solved by Friday without your input. You have achieved ultimate freedom.

00:01:51

Radical trust, aggressive delegation, and supreme talent create a self-sustaining machine. When you build the right executives, they build the rest of the company. Bottom line, you cannot be the smartest person in the room forever. Hire the heavy hitters, give them the keys, and lead from the top. Because when you do, you will scale faster than ever.

Episode description

You cannot scale forever as the only strategic brain in the business.

At some point, your company needs leaders who can execute without you.

In this episode of The Level Up Podcast w/ Paul Alex, we break down how to build a business that runs beyond the founder and grows through strong leadership, clear ownership, and real execution.

Because if every decision still runs through you, every department waits for your approval, and your team only completes tasks without owning outcomes, you are not building a scalable company.

You are building a bottleneck.

Paul explains why administrative help alone is not enough to build a massive business. At a certain level, you need high-level operators who can think, lead, solve problems, make decisions, and move the company forward without constant supervision.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

Why doing everything yourself keeps your business stuck

How high-level executives raise the ceiling of your company

Why leaders need ownership, not just tasks

How autonomy, KPIs, and trust create a stronger organization

Why delegating authority is different from delegating busywork

The truth is simple:

You cannot be the smartest person in the room forever.

If you want a bigger company, you need bigger talent.

People who can lead.

People who can build.

People who can solve.

People who can take territory and drive results.

High-level CEOs do not just delegate tasks.

They delegate authority.

They hire heavy hitters.

They give them clear targets.

They hand over ownership.

And they get out of the way.

Because when you build the right executive team, they help build the rest of the company.

Hire the giants.

Give them the keys.

Lead from the top.

And keep leveling up.
