Trump has long promised tariffs, and now he's getting set to impose them. The President-elect said one of his first acts in office will be to impose new tariffs on China, Canada, and Mexico. He plans to issue executive orders, setting a 25% tariff on goods from Canada and Mexico, and a 10% tariff on Chinese imports, aimed at curbing drug trafficking and illegal immigration. In a statement on Truth Social, Trump said, This tariff will remain in effect until such time as drugs, in particular, fentanyl, and all illegal aliens, stop this invasion of our country. Both Mexico and Canada have the absolute right and power to easily solve this long-simmering problem. We hereby demand that they use this power, and until such time that they do, it is time for them to pay a very big price.

On Tuesday, the Biden administration made the proposal to expand demand Medicare and Medicaid coverage to include weight loss drugs, potentially benefiting 7.5 million Americans. Under current Medicare rules, weight loss drugs are not covered. Health officials say this plan would address obesity as a chronic disease and improve public health. The proposal could cost billions of dollars. Notably, these drugs have been shown to have dangerous side effects, including intestinal blockages, gall bladder damage, and gastroparesis. Thousands of lawsuits have already been filed against Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly, the makers of those drugs. He recently spoke out against their use.

Us district Judge, Tanya Chutkin, has dismissed the 2020 election-related charges against Donald Trump after Special Counsel Jack Smith requested that the case be dropped.
