Donald Trump says he will make good on his campaign promise to impose sweeping tariffs on imports from China and other trading partners. Daily Wire Senior Editor, Kabbit Phillips, has the details.

Trump has long promised tariffs, and now he's getting set to impose them. The President-elect said one of his first acts in office will be to impose new tariffs on China, Canada, and Mexico. He plans to issue executive orders, setting a 25% tariff on goods from Canada and Mexico, and a 10% tariff on Chinese imports, aimed at curbing drug trafficking and illegal immigration. In a statement on Truth Social, Trump said, This tariff will remain in effect until such time as drugs, in particular, fentanyl, and all illegal aliens, stop this invasion of our country. Both Mexico and Canada have the absolute right and power to easily solve this long-simmering problem. We hereby demand that they use this power, and until such time that they do, it is time for them to pay a very big price.

The Biden administration today proposed the expansion of Medicare and Medicaid to cover weight loss drugs, including Ozempic and Wegovy. Daily Wire reporter Amanda Presta Giacomo reports.

On Tuesday, the Biden administration made the proposal to expand demand Medicare and Medicaid coverage to include weight loss drugs, potentially benefiting 7.5 million Americans. Under current Medicare rules, weight loss drugs are not covered. Health officials say this plan would address obesity as a chronic disease and improve public health. The proposal could cost billions of dollars. Notably, these drugs have been shown to have dangerous side effects, including intestinal blockages, gall bladder damage, and gastroparesis. Thousands of lawsuits have already been filed against Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly, the makers of those drugs. It'll be up to the incoming Trump administration to decide whether to implement the proposal or not. Hhs Secretary Nominy, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Is not a supporter of the weight loss drugs. He recently spoke out against their use.

We're spending $1,600 a month on this drug. There's a bill right now before Congress that will make it available to everybody who's overweight, which is 74% of the American population. That alone will It costs $3 trillion a year. If we spend about one-fifth of that giving good food, three meals a day to every man, woman, and child in our country, we could solve the obesity and diabetes epidemic overnight. A tiny fracture of the cost.

Us district Judge, Tanya Chutkin, has dismissed the 2020 election-related charges against Donald Trump after Special Counsel Jack Smith requested that the case be dropped. Chutkin ruled the case may be dismissed without prejudice, citing legal precedent that a sitting President cannot face federal indictment. Trump called the charges empty and lawless and accused Democrats of wasting taxpayer money on politically motivated attacks.

Donald Trump plans to shake up the Justice Department as he prepares for his second term. According to the Washington Post, Trump intends to fire the team that worked with Special Counsel Jack Smith on federal cases against him, including career prosecutors, usually shielded from political dismissal. Sources close to Trump says he also wants to investigate alleged voter fraud in battleground states that those plans remain less defined. Despite protests and a lawsuit from opposing teams, the Colorado federal judge cited legal protections under Title IX and the 14th Amendment, rejecting claims that the player, Blair Fleming's participation unfairly disadvantages women. San Jose State says it is following NCA guidelines. Riley Gaines, who has been fighting to Protect Women in sports, expressed disappointment in the decision, saying, A federal judge just ruled in favor of a male athlete who has been injuring defenseless women in volleyball for years. It's time to remove those activist judges who refuse to uphold the law as it was intended. Plaintiffs in the case have appealed the decision.
