The ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran seems to be on the verge of collapse. Daily Wire foreign affairs reporter Kassia Kiva has the latest.

On Monday, President Trump said that the Iranian counter to a US peace proposal was so bad it may have killed the ceasefire.

For the time being, the ceasefire remains in place.

Meanwhile, Iran's main oil export terminal on Kharg Island appears to have lost huge amounts of oil into the Persian Gulf. Iranian officials denied the reports of a leak yesterday, but oil spill monitors at Orbital EOS say that more than 3,000 barrels of crude were released in one spill last week. Maritime intelligence firm Windward AI later detected a second leak that has created an oil slick roughly 12 to 20 square kilometers.

Virginia Democrats are considering an audacious plan to force a new congressional map ahead of midterms. Daily Wire contributor Tim Pearce has more.

Top Democrats in the state have discussed a plan to force the retirement of state Supreme Court justices after the court struck down their map last month. The plan is a version of one first floated by a Michigan state law professor to lower the retirement age from 73 to 54, which would gut the bench completely. One Democrat went on record with the New York Times to defend the proposal, which would need Governor Abigail Spanberger's signature to enact. A spokeswoman for Spanberger declined to comment.

Cole Thomas Allen, who was charged with attempting to assassinate President Trump in April, pleaded not guilty this morning. Daily Wire legal analyst Heidi Hall has the details.

Allen was indicted on 4 charges after his alleged attack on the president during the White House Correspondents' Dinner last month. In addition to being charged with attempting to assassinate the president, he was also charged with assaulting a federal officer with a deadly weapon, discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence, and transportation of a firearm and ammunition in interstate commerce with the intent to commit a felony. Allen appeared this morning before a federal district court in Washington, where he pled not guilty on all four charges. After the plea, Eugene Ohm, the federal public defender representing Allen, asked the judge for Acting Attorney General Todd Blanch and U.S. Attorney Jeanine Piero to recuse themselves, as both attended the event where the attack took place and might consider themselves victims.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is under pressure from his own party to step aside after Labor was trounced in local elections last week. On Monday, Starmer addressed the losses in a speech in which he promised to double down on Labour's left-wing agenda.

Starmer's government has suffered some high-level departures, while dozens of Labor MPs have called for his resignation.

An ally and donor of Michigan Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer has been charged with allegedly stealing tens of millions of dollars from the state. Daily Wire reporter Zach Jewell has more.

Whitmer appointed businesswoman Faye Baidoun to the executive board of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, where prosecutors say she used her influence to win a $20 million grant. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced the charges last week.

Ms. Baidoun has been charged in the 47th District Court in Farmington Hills with conducting a criminal enterprise, a 20-year felony, and in addition, 7 counts of uttering and publishing Those are 14-year felonies. One count of forgery, a 14-year felony. One count of larceny by conversion, more than $20,000, a 10-year felony. And 6 counts of larceny by conversion, $1,000 to $20,000, 5-year felonies.

Badoun has been a longtime player in Michigan politics, raising money and donating to Democrats, including tens of thousands of dollars to Whitmer.

A newly proposed rule change would allow Americans to ship handguns through the U.S. Postal Service for the first time in nearly century. Daily Wire homepage managing editor Jordan Schroeder has more.

In January, the Justice Department challenged a 1927 law that banned the Postal Service from handling firearms capable of being concealed unless they are sent by a licensed dealer. The Justice Department called the law unconstitutional and advised the Postal Service to change its rules. Democrat attorneys general in two dozen states have challenged the rule change proposed by USPS last month.

A creepy church bathroom discovery is now fueling a bigger immigration debate. Daily Wire immigration reporter Ginny Ter reports.

A Panamanian man illegally living in Florida has been arrested for secretly filming in the women's bathroom of a church. The Fort Walton Beach Police Department arrested Aqualino Sanjur Ortega last Sunday after receiving a call about a possible armed person at Grace Church during a religious service. One woman said that while she was inside the women's restroom, she observed a mobile phone positioned above the ceiling with its camera pointed downward in her direction, police said. When officers arrived, Ortega was found hiding in the ceiling above the bathroom. Ortega is now charged with video voyeurism and disturbing a religious assembly. As a result, ICE has lodged a detainer with the Ocaloosa County Jail, and local authorities are likely to honor the request and hand Ortega over for eventual deportation.

An auditor sounding the alarm on a staggering 47,000% surge in Medicaid autism billings in North Carolina. State Auditor Dave Bullock told Fox News Digital that billings have spiked from $1.4 million to $660 million in the past 5 years. A large portion of the increase appears outright illegal, Bullock said, citing countless cases in which multiple clinical providers billed for the same client in the exact same window. The fraud has been enabled by lax rulemaking under the state's Democrat-led Department of Health and Human Services, the auditor told Fox News. The North Carolina probe comes amid a wave of reported Medicaid fraud across the country, including a recent Daily Wire investigation into 288 Medicaid companies operating out of 7 buildings in Columbus, Ohio.

The remains of one of two U.S. Army soldiers who disappeared during military exercises in Morocco have been recovered. Daily Wire culture reporter Megan Basham has the story.

After an intensive week-long search, military officials confirmed Sunday that the soldier was identified as Kendrick Lamont Key Jr., a 27-year-old first lieutenant from Richmond, Virginia. Key and another unidentified soldier vanished on May 2nd during a recreational hike near the Camp Draw training area outside Tantan, Morocco. The two men disappeared just hours after participating in the annual African Lion multinational war games exercise. Officials said the soldiers were seen near the ocean cliffs before they reportedly plunged into the Atlantic Ocean. The event triggered a massive international rescue operation involving more than 600 personnel from the United States, Morocco, and allied partner nations participating in the exercises. The operation included helicopters, drones, frigates, maritime vessels, and ground search teams combing more than 12,000 square kilometers of shoreline and ocean over 8 days. The search is ongoing for the second soldier who remains missing.

A Major League Baseball prospect has self-deported to Mexico after pleading guilty to a human smuggling charge. Daily Wire editor-in-chief Brent Scher has more.

19-year-old Humberto Cruz signed with the San Diego Padres in 2024 with a $750,000 bonus. Ranked as the Padres' number 5 prospect, he likely would have been pitching in the majors within a few years. Cruz, however, was arrested in October near the Mexico border transporting multiple illegal migrants. He admitted that the passengers were paying him $1,000 each for transport across the border. Prosecutors are now seeking felony charges. In light of the pending charges, Cruz has opted to self-deport back to Mexico. His work visa has been revoked, though he could possibly reapply in 5 years pending good behavior.

And the first lawsuit has been filed against OpenAI for its alleged role in the 2025 shooting at Florida State, my alma mater. Daily Wire reporter Brecca Stoll has more.

The widow of one of the victims claims in her lawsuit that ChatGPT provided material assistance in the planning of the attack and that the company failed to flag and act on obvious threats. The lawsuit also asserts that the chatbot encouraged the shooter's delusions and flattered him. These failures, the lawsuit says, shows the product itself is unsafe and that it was rushed to market without proper warning to users. OpenAI is denying responsibility, claiming that the chatbot merely gave factual information and that it has cooperated with law enforcement. At least 7 lawsuits associated with the Tumbler Ridge school shooting in Canada are currently pending. Those families alleged the company knew the attack was being planned but failed to notify authorities.
