President Trump launched Project Freedom over the weekend, a military-backed effort to escort stranded ships through the Strait of Hormuz. Daily Wire reporter Kassia Kiva has the latest on the showdown.
Trump announced the project on Truth Social and called the mission humanitarian, but warned any interference will, quote, have to be dealt with forcefully. Iran pushed back, warning US involvement would violate the ceasefire. Ebrahim Azizi, the head of Iran's parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, took to X writing, quote, the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf would not be managed by Trump's delusional posts. The standoff is rattling global markets and energy flows, with officials warning of increased oil disruptions and broader economic fallout. At the moment, however, negotiations continue. The UAE said its air defenses intercepted 12 ballistic missiles, 3 cruise missiles, and 4 drones launched from Iran Monday, leaving 3 people moderately injured. Officials also announced schools will shift to remote learning through May 8th in the UAE due to the situation.
The FDA will allow pancreatic cancer patients to access a promising new drug before it's received full approval. On Friday, the agency said that patients with severe and terminal diagnoses may be able to take Daroxanrizib. A once-a-day pill that blocks the signal for cancer cells to grow. The drugmaker Revolution Medicine says that the bill has allowed terminal patients to survive an average of 13 months compared to just 6 months for those on chemo. Former Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse, who was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in December, called it a miracle drug.

GameStop has offered to buy eBay for $56 billion because GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen says he can turn the lackluster online marketplace into a competitor with Amazon. The offer letter was delivered to eBay's board on Sunday. eBay told The Wall Street Journal that it would review the unsolicited offer but did not hint at what it would do. Cohen said that if eBay rejected the buyout offer, he's prepared to try a hostile takeover by taking his offer directly to shareholders.
The Thermos Company, which makes insulated drink containers, is voluntarily recalling more than 8 million of their jars and bottles over safety concerns. Daily Wire lifestyle reporter Lauren Baer has the details.
According to a company disclosure, multiple people have suffered severe eye injuries after leaving food or beverages in a thermos for an extended time, causing fermentation and high pressure to build inside the vessel. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was hospitalized in critical condition over the weekend. A spokesman for Giuliani said that while his condition is serious, he is stable, but the spokesman did not say what the former mayor was hospitalized for.
