Transcript of Israel would consider another fighting pause if more hostages are returned: Danny Danon
Fox NewsLet's bring in Danny Danin on this breaking news, senior member of the Lukud Party in Israel's Parliament and a former Israeli ambassador to the United Nations. Tell me what you think about the United States. Danny, welcome. First of all, thank you for being here. Tell me what you think about the fact that the United States is the only country at the UN who did not support this resolution for an Israeli ceasefire in Gaza.
For Martha, first, we are grateful for the US for showing again, moral clarity. But the UN Secretary General should be ashamed today. Look what he did. He invoked Article 99. He didn't do it after the atrocities in Syria, where half a million people were killed or two years after the war in Ukraine. All of a sudden, he's coming and telling us to cease fire. Why he's not asking about our hostages? What do we expect us to do? To stop our fight against evil and wait for the terrorists to release the hostages? It will never happen. We are putting a lot of pressure on Hamas now. Our forces are moving forward. And I think what we saw today is the Secretary General of the UN collaborating with Hamas. They are under pressure. They are hearing our tongues getting closer to the hostages and they are appealing to the Secretary General to put pressure on Israel. So we will send the US again. We will continue with the military activity to make sure that we eradicate Hamas and we bring back home the hostages. And I want to remind you, we still have 16 women in the hands of Hamas.
What we hear, the testimonials from the prisoners who came back from the hostages who came back, all of those stories, what they are doing to the hostages over there.
No, horrific. But some of those families are saying that they want to cease fire as well, Danny. They want the priority to be getting the hostages home. I know that's putting political pressure on the Prime Minister and his leadership in Israel. What do you say to that?
We agreed to a cease fire. Hamas brought a cease fire, and we are willing to consider another pause if we will see more hostages coming back. But we realize that the more pressure we put on Hamas, the better the chances for the hostages to come back. That's exactly what we are doing now. We're putting a lot of pressure. We are paying a heavy price in terms of casualties to our troops. But we are determined. We are determined to win this war to bring back the hostages. With all due respect to the UN, I ask myself where they have been on October seventh for 60 days. They're holding the hostages in captivity. I haven't seen any resolution coming from the Security Council.
All right, Dana, Dan, and thank you for jumping on with us in the wake of this breaking news. It's good to have you with us, sir. Thank you very much.
Thank you all that.
