There were a couple cat lady jabs and other political comments during this year's Emmys. Murphy Brown star Candice Bergen drew some laughs by referencing Republican vice presidential candidate J. D. Vance's controversial comment about childless cat ladies.

My character was attacked by Vice President Dan Quale when Murphy became pregnant and decided to raise the baby as a single mother. Oh, how far we've come. Selena come.
